Animoca Brands pilots AI-powered AI commerce features with Visa

Hong Kong – Animoca Brands has announced the completion of a live pilot for new AI-powered commerce capabilities on its Minds platform, developed in collaboration with Visa, as the company explores agentic commerce that enables AI agents to assist users with shopping, rewards discovery and secure transactions.

The pilot integrates Visa Intelligent Commerce (VIC) and Visa’s cardholder rewards and benefits directory into Minds by Animoca Brands, allowing AI agents to identify eligible Visa rewards and complete purchases on behalf of users at selected merchants in Hong Kong. The pilot initially supports transactions through the Bruce Lee Club Ltd eShop.

AI agents designed to support shopping and payments

Minds is Animoca Brands’ platform for deploying and managing user-controlled AI agents. Through its Bazaar marketplace, users can create AI agents and extend their capabilities with additional tools, applications and skills, while enabling multiple specialised agents to collaborate on more complex tasks.

According to the company, the newly piloted commerce skills move beyond traditional AI assistants that primarily help users search for or compare products. By integrating Visa Intelligent Commerce, Minds AI agents can complete transactions on behalf of users while operating within pre-authorised spending limits and user-defined preferences.

Animoca Brands said the payment process uses Visa’s tokenised payment credentials, authentication systems, transaction controls and fraud protection measures, with users retaining control over when and how AI agents are permitted to make purchases.

Rewards discovery integrated into AI shopping experience

The company has also introduced a cardholder rewards and benefits directory that enables AI agents to identify Visa Hong Kong and China offers based on users’ eligible payment cards, preferences and intended purchases.

Animoca Brands said the feature is designed to help users discover relevant promotions, compare available card benefits and incorporate rewards into the purchasing process without manually searching for offers.

The company said these capabilities reflect its broader strategy to develop agentic commerce, where AI agents can assist consumers with shopping and payments while operating within user-defined permissions.

Yat Siu, Chairman and Co-Founder of Animoca Brands, said: “For most of the history of digital payments, innovation has meant making the same consumer journey faster or less expensive. Agentic commerce introduces a more fundamental shift by allowing an AI agent to act on a user’s behalf within clearly defined permissions. Today marks a step toward that future, and reflects our view that users should have meaningful control over how AI participates in their digital lives, including how it helps them transact. Our work with Visa Intelligent Commerce acts as a crucial bridge, connecting the emerging agentic world with established human-centric commerce infrastructure.”

Animoca Brands is showcasing the new capabilities at its booth during the inaugural Asia-Pacific edition of the LEAP technology conference, taking place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 8 to 10 July 2026. The demonstration includes the agent-led purchasing capability using the Bruce Lee Club Ltd eShop.
