Singapore – UOB Travel has chosen Amadeus as its partner for a major upgrade of its digital infrastructure, marking a significant step in the company’s efforts to strengthen its service capabilities in Singapore and beyond.
The travel management firm, part of United Overseas Bank (UOB), provides a wide range of travel services for cardholders and banking clients, covering corporate travel, customised leisure journeys, and cruise itineraries.
The partnership centres on developing a modernised, fully integrated system that supports the entire travel process. UOB Travel is adopting advanced digital tools aimed at improving operational efficiency and strengthening the overall CX.
The new technology framework is designed to streamline internal workflows, allowing consultants to work with greater accuracy and reduced manual processing.
“Amadeus’ holistic travel technology offering has transformative potential for UOB Travel in Singapore. Through a suite of digital retailing, automation, productivity, and back‑office solutions, we are building a future‑proof business system with scalable, efficient solutions,” Steven Ler, executive director of UOB Travel, commented.
As part of this transformation, UOB Travel will gain access to a broader portfolio of travel content, including contemporary distribution formats such as New Distribution Capability. This is expected to provide both staff and customers with a more comprehensive and seamless booking process, with faster access to a wider range of travel options.
The upgraded platform is intended to deliver more responsive services, richer content and improved connectivity across the organisation. The initiative supports UOB Travel’s long-term plans for business growth by equipping the company with a more scalable and efficient operating model.
“Together our two organisations are well‑placed to show how the next generation of travel technology can streamline operations, maximise efficiency, and unlock new revenue opportunities — all within a seamless end‑to‑end workflow,” Javier Laforgue, executive vice president of travel unit & managing director of Asia Pacific at Amadeus, stated.
He added, “Amadeus looks forward to working closely with the UOB Travel team to deliver on this shared vision.”
UOB operates an international network spanning 19 markets across Asia Pacific, Europe and North America. The collaboration with Amadeus reflects the bank’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the travel experience it offers by introducing modern systems designed to meet the expectations of an increasingly digital-focused customer base.
