Philippines – Microsoft has appointed Caroline Foo as its new Country General Manager for the Philippines, with the technology company saying she will focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud adoption in the country.

Foo moves into the role from her position as Enterprise Commercial Director for ASEAN, where she led commercial and sales organisations across the region. She also worked with Microsoft’s customers and partners across Southeast Asia.

Her appointment comes as Microsoft continues to expand its investments in the Philippines, including initiatives involving government, businesses, startups and technology partners. The company said its work in the country includes efforts to broaden access to technology, develop local capabilities and support economic growth.

In her new role, Foo will oversee Microsoft’s business in the Philippines, with priorities including increasing AI and cloud adoption, expanding AI skills development and supporting the use of AI on secure and governed technology foundations.

The company cited findings from its 2026 Work Trend Index, which found that 25 per cent of Filipino workers qualified as Frontier Professionals, the report’s most advanced category of AI users, compared with a global average of 16 per cent.

“The Philippines has the talent, the ambition and the digital momentum to lead in the Al era,” said Mayank Wadhwa, President of Microsoft ASEAN.

“The opportunity now is to help organisations match that ambition with trusted foundations, strong governance and the skills to translate Al innovation into lasting economic and social impact. Caroline knows our customers, our partners and our business across ASEAN, and I have every confidence in her ability to lead this next chapter for Microsoft Philippines,” Wadhwa continued.

Foo said the Philippines’ pace of AI adoption and its approach to the technology presented opportunities for businesses and organisations.

“The Philippines is one of the most inspiring markets in our region. What gives me optimism is not just the pace of Al adoption, but the thoughtfulness behind it. Across conversations with customers, partners and leaders, I see a genuine desire to harness technology in a way that amplifies human potential, strengthens trust, and creates lasting impact,” said Caroline Foo, Country General Manager for the Philippines at Microsoft.

“The real opportunity is not Al itself. It is what people can achieve with it. My role is to help our customers and partners access the technology, skills and support they need to turn ambition into outcomes, and to ensure the befits of Al reach every organisation, community and learner we serve here in the Philippines,” Foo continued.
