South Korea – South Korean telecommunications operator LG Uplus has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Arize AI, a global AI agent observability and evaluation company, to jointly develop a framework for operating AI agents accurately, reliably and safely.
The agreement was announced on 1 September, with LG Uplus stating that the partnership will focus on cooperating in technical fields to manage the performance and quality of AI agents while enhancing their safety.
According to LG Uplus, the move comes as AI adoption expands across corporate work environments, creating a need to continuously monitor the performance and response quality of AI agents and to establish systems that proactively manage errors and risk factors.
Arize AI specialises in measuring the performance of generative AI and AI agents and analysing errors, offering AI service quality management solutions to companies across telecommunications, finance, manufacturing, distribution and other sectors.
Under the terms of the MOU, the two companies will pursue three key areas of cooperation.
These include developing Korean language and voice-based AI evaluation technology, building safety device technology to prevent AI from generating inaccurate or inappropriate responses, and exploring joint business opportunities in the domestic B2B market.
Commenting on the partnership, Sangyeob Lee, CTO of LG Uplus, said, “As AI becomes a core part of corporate work environments, reliability and operational stability are emerging as key competitive factors alongside performance.”
He added, “Through cooperation with Arize AI, we will strengthen our AI operations management capabilities and provide AI services that customers can trust.”
The collaboration positions LG Uplus to address growing enterprise demand for trustworthy AI systems, particularly as businesses in South Korea and beyond seek greater assurance around AI agent reliability before deploying such technology at scale.
