Sydney, Australia – Meta has signed strategic AI infrastructure agreements with Firmus for GPU compute capacity at the Australian company’s AI factories across Asia-Pacific, the two companies announced today.
The facilities are built on NVIDIA‘s full-stack DSX platform, according to Firmus and Meta.
The agreements include contracted capacity and options for further expansion. Meta will use the capacity to support its AI research, model development and training.
The deal builds on an existing relationship. Meta already runs NVIDIA GB300 NVL72 systems at Firmus’ Melbourne AI factory, which Firmus describes as the largest deployment of NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra systems in the Southern Hemisphere.
Firmus designs, manufactures and operates AI factories for large-scale AI workloads. Its engineering combines computing, cooling and power systems, with the stated goal of delivering more compute from each watt of energy.
Its HyperCube platform, co-designed with NVIDIA, sits at the centre of that approach. According to Firmus, the platform packages liquid cooling, power and mechanical systems into factory-built modules that can be produced at scale and deployed across the region.
The latest generation supports NVIDIA GB300 and Vera Rubin NVL72 systems, as well as Spectrum-X networking. Firmus says that by designing computing, networking, cooling, and power systems together, it aims to deploy AI factories faster and use energy more efficiently.
Meta presented the agreements as part of a wider regional build-out. Gaya Nagarajan, Vice President, Engineering, Infrastructure at Meta, said, “We see Firmus as a long-term strategic infrastructure partner as we build for the next generation of AI across Asia-Pacific and expand the infrastructure supporting our AI research and model development efforts – the foundation of personal superintelligence.”
Firmus leadership also echoed the focus on performance and energy efficiency.
