New Zealand – Aduna, a global provider of standardised network application programming interfaces (APIs), has partnered with Spark, New Zealand’s largest telecommunications and digital services company, to accelerate the adoption of advanced network API services in the country.

The collaboration brings New Zealand into Aduna’s global federation of operators, enabling enterprises and developers to access network intelligence through a unified platform already in use across North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and Africa.

The initial phase of the partnership will introduce SIM Swap detection and Number Verification APIs. These tools will support industries such as banking, financial services, e-commerce, and digital platforms by providing real-time identity verification and fraud prevention capabilities.

Anthony Bartolo, CEO of Aduna, shared that the partnership opens new opportunities for enterprises and developers in New Zealand.

“By delivering standardised APIs, we enable businesses to strengthen digital trust and give developers the tools to build secure, user-friendly services that drive real value,” Anthony commented.

The services are expected to help enterprises strengthen digital transactions, streamline customer onboarding, and reduce the risks of fraudulent activity.

For developers, the partnership offers the ability to integrate network intelligence directly into applications.

This will enable the creation of services that improve online security, enhance user experience, and scale seamlessly across global markets using consistent standards.

“At Spark, this partnership allows us to capture the full value of our network capabilities while giving our business customers access to sophisticated connectivity solutions that solve challenges,” Renee Mateparae, network and operations director at Spark, stated.

Renee added, “Fraud prevention will be one of the first areas we tackle, with Sim Swap detection and Number Verification APIs providing the tools businesses need to safeguard their customers.”

Aduna is a global venture supported by leading telecom operators and Ericsson, focused on accelerating innovation through common network APIs. Meanwhile, Spark is New Zealand’s biggest telco and digital services provider, delivering mobile, broadband, cloud, and technology solutions that support the country’s digital growth.
