Manila, Philippines – Microsoft has appointed Jonathan Que as its new country lead for the Philippines, bringing more than two decades of experience in the regional technology and cloud sector. He is known for establishing new markets, scaling operations, and helping organisations translate their digital plans into tangible results.
In his new role, Jonathan will guide the organisation’s efforts to broaden the use of AI and cloud services in the Philippines. He takes over the outgoing Microsoft country manager, Peter Maquera, who previously oversaw the company’s recent expansion in the Philippine market.
Following Jonathan’s appointment, Microsoft aims to support businesses and public institutions as they modernise operations, explore new digital capabilities, and strengthen long-term competitiveness.
The company has witnessed the Philippines becoming increasingly active in deploying emerging technologies, particularly among firms looking to advance their use of data and AI.
“I am honoured to join Microsoft Philippines at a time when the country is poised to become a hub for frontier firms and digital innovation,” Jonathan commented.
He added, “Together with Microsoft, we can build a future where every Filipino is empowered to thrive and where technology becomes a driving force for inclusive progress and meaningful impact across the nation.”
Jonathan’s appointment reflects its intention to help local enterprises and communities adopt tools that can improve productivity, support sustainable development, and open opportunities across various sectors.
“The Philippines is emerging as a leader among frontier firms—organisations that are redefining what’s possible by combining human ingenuity with the transformative power of AI,” Mayank Wadhwa, Microsoft ASEAN president, stated.
“With Jonathan’s leadership, Microsoft is committed to empowering businesses and communities across the country to accelerate innovation, drive sustainable growth, and create new opportunities for all.”
Jonathan’s appointment comes at a time when the Philippines is positioned to expand its digital capacity. He noted that his focus will be on working with customers, partners and local stakeholders to make full use of Microsoft’s cloud, data, cybersecurity and AI platforms in ways that enable inclusive progress.
Previously, Jonathan held senior roles at several global technology companies, including IBM, HP, Dimension Data, VMware, Amazon Web Services and eCloudvalley.
