Philippines — Unilab, one of the largest pharmaceutical and healthcare companies in the Philippines, has partnered with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to modernise its enterprise systems through a cloud-led transformation. The initiative aims to strengthen Unilab’s digital infrastructure, streamline business operations, and support long-term growth.
As part of the collaboration, TCS will guide Unilab in moving from its legacy enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to SAP S/4HANA on RISE, hosted on AWS Cloud. The program includes strategy and design, system implementation, data migration, testing, and change management. The modernisation is expected to improve operational agility, enhance data-driven decision-making, and build a scalable platform to meet evolving market needs.
The transformation will also focus on harmonising operations, integrating advanced analytics, and enhancing supply chain resilience. By adopting a unified digital core, Unilab seeks to accelerate innovation, strengthen compliance, and expand its ability to serve healthcare providers, clinics, and pharmacies across the region.
“We are honoured to support Unilab in this important initiative. With SAP S/4HANA at the core, Unilab is reinforcing its position as a digital-first enterprise,” Seema Mehra, vice president & business head, ERU & LSHC – APAC, Middle East, and Africa, TCS stated.
“This transformation will help them accelerate innovation and continue to deliver high-quality medicines and healthcare services for the communities they serve.”
Unilab, with more than 80 years of operations, runs multiple manufacturing plants in the Philippines and distributes products across 18 countries. The partnership reflects its broader strategy of future-proofing operations while preserving process expertise and supporting a wide distribution network.
Sebastian Frederick Baquiran, president and CEO of Unilab, Inc, mentioned that the company is committed to delivering quality healthcare products and services with excellence and innovation.
“As we grow our product portfolio and reach new markets, this partnership with TCS, underpinned by SAP RISE and powered by AWS cloud, ensures we continue to future-proof our operations and create long-term value for our stakeholders,” Sebastian explained.
TCS brings global experience in large-scale enterprise modernisation, particularly within healthcare and life sciences. The company has been present in the Philippines since 2008, supporting clients across sectors such as telecommunications, banking, real estate, and airlines.
