Hong Kong – Tencent Cloud, the cloud business of Tencent, has partnered with Singapore telehealth digital solutions provider Care to support its virtual consultations, the company announced on 26 October 2026.
Under the collaboration, Care has adopted Tencent Cloud’s Tencent Real-Time Communication (Tencent RTC). Tencent Cloud says the technology gives healthcare professionals and patients a more stable, low-latency and high-quality communications experience.
Tencent Cloud says Tencent RTC offers millisecond-level latency and strong network resilience. According to the company, testing showed the platform can tolerate packet loss rates of more than 80% and network jitter exceeding 1,000 milliseconds while maintaining communication quality.
In addition, Tencent Cloud says the platform includes network observability tools covering real-time monitoring, anomaly detection and analytics. These allow teams to identify and address issues before they affect consultations, the company says.
The reliability demands are higher than for everyday video calls, Tencent Cloud noted. Telehealth consultations require consistent, synchronised audio and video, dependable connectivity and rapid issue resolution.
A frozen screen or dropped connection can disrupt a consultation, delay care and affect patient trust, the company added.
Care selected Tencent RTC as the foundation of its real-time communications capabilities. Tencent Cloud says its global infrastructure and support services back the platform as demand for digital healthcare grows in Singapore.
On the development side, Tencent Cloud says Tencent RTC integrates with Flutter architecture. This allows Care to manage its physician-facing web application and patient-facing mobile application through a single development approach, reducing operational complexity while keeping the user experience consistent across platforms.
Bluefin Jiannan Zhao, Vice President of Tencent Cloud and Managing Director of APAC, Tencent Cloud International, said, “Healthcare is one of the most demanding environments for real-time communications, where every interaction can have a direct impact on overall patient experience and care delivery.”
“We are pleased to work with Care to strengthen its communications foundation through Tencent RTC. Beyond providing stable and high-quality audio and video services, we are committed to helping healthcare organizations provide trusted and seamless digital healthcare experiences through reliable technology and responsive operational support,” Zhao added.
Darrell Zhang, Commercial Director of Care, said, “In telemedicine, crystal-clear audio and uninterrupted video aren’t just technical benchmarks—they are essential to patient trust and accurate clinical care. Tencent RTC provides the ultra-low latency and rock-solid stability our clinicians depend on to deliver seamless virtual consultations, no matter where our patients are located.”
Tencent Cloud said the collaboration reflects the growing role of real-time communications technology in digital healthcare services across Southeast Asia.
