Sydney, Australia – Riverbed has appointed Peter Lee as Regional Director of Solutions Engineering and promoted Nick Kempt to Director of Alliances, AIOps and Customer Success, expanding its Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) leadership team.
The company announced the changes on 28 October as it sharpens its focus on unified observability, AIOps and autonomous IT operations across the region.
Lee joins with more than two decades of experience in technical pre-sales, cyber security and IT observability. He has led solutions engineering and architecture teams across APJ’s enterprise, strategic and public sector segments, and helped shape regional go-to-market strategy alongside sales, marketing and product teams.
In his new role, Lee will build and scale Riverbed’s Solutions Engineering organisation across APJ. He will report to Charbel Khneisser, Senior Vice President, Global Solutions Engineering.
Outlining the demand he sees in the market, Lee said that the region’s organisations are looking for simpler technology environments. “Organisations across APJ want to simplify complex technology environments and move beyond fragmented monitoring tools,” said Lee.
He then pointed to Riverbed’s approach to that challenge. “Riverbed’s combination of network intelligence, observability and AI-driven insights, extending to mobile devices, gives organisations the context to identify issues faster and improve digital experiences. I’m excited to help build a Solutions Engineering team that demonstrates that value to customers and partners,” Lee added.
Kempt, meanwhile, takes on an expanded role covering Riverbed’s regional AIOps strategy, customer engagement and strategic alliances. He has spent more than five years at the company across APJ.
He will focus on strengthening executive customer relationships and expanding alliances with managed service providers (MSPs) and technology partners, according to Riverbed.
Kempt also addressed how organisations are approaching AI spending. “As organisations invest more in AI and automation, the focus is shifting to how those investments deliver business value,” said Kempt.
He then set out his priorities in the role. “My priority is to deepen customer relationships and work with our partners to turn observability, AI and automation into measurable outcomes,” Kempt continued.
Kempt reports to Paul Crighton, Vice President Sales, APJ, of Riverbed. Crighton said the appointments reflect shifting customer expectations. “AI is changing what customers expect from their technology environments and their partners,” said Crighton.
“Peter and Nick bring complementary strengths in technical leadership, customer success and regional execution. Their expanded roles will help customers and partners get more from their existing investments as they move toward autonomous IT operations, maximising the value of AI in their IT environments,” Crighton concluded.
Riverbed said the appointments support its Zero Disruption vision, which uses unified observability and AI-driven intelligence to resolve issues faster.
