Sydney, Australia – Riverbed has introduced new network observability offerings that combine agentic artificial intelligence (AI) with broader network visibility, targeting faster troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and disruption prevention.

The new Network 360 offerings integrate Riverbed IQ and Riverbed Q into its AppResponse and NetProfiler solutions, while extending network visibility across remote users, Zero Trust architectures and public cloud environments through NPM+.

The company said the approach brings together network evidence from packets, flows and endpoints with causal, predictive, generative and agentic AI capabilities.

“For decades, network monitoring tools have surfaced the evidence, but network professionals have still had to manually connect the dots. That model can no longer keep pace as applications span data centres, public clouds and SaaS environments, employees work from anywhere, and Zero Trust architectures add new visibility gaps across networks IT may not own or control,” said Richard Tworek, Chief Technology Officer at Riverbed

“With Network 360, Riverbed is bringing agentic AI directly into network operations by turning deep network evidence from hybrid environments into contextual insight, faster root-cause identification, predictive awareness of emerging issues and recommended next actions. This is how we help NetOps teams move from tedious, reactive investigations that once took hours or days to guided, AI-driven workflows that accelerate resolution today and lay the foundation for increasingly autonomous action before disruptions impact users or the business,” Tworek continued.

AI-driven network investigations

Riverbed IQ serves as the intelligence layer for NPM 360, applying causal, predictive, generative and agentic AI to connected operational data. The system correlates evidence, identifies potential causes, anticipates emerging issues, and recommends actions.

Riverbed Q provides a conversational interface to the intelligence layer, allowing network teams to investigate performance issues using natural-language queries. Users can also drill into underlying flows, packets and other network evidence when required.

The company said the two capabilities are designed to work together to analyse network evidence, recommend next steps and support investigations across multiple sources.

AI integrated into existing network tools

The new NPM 360 offering incorporates Riverbed IQ and Q into AppResponse and NetProfiler.

AppResponse provides packet capture and analysis, while NetProfiler offers flow monitoring and analytics across enterprise network environments. The integration brings AI capabilities directly into the two platforms used for network monitoring and performance analysis.

NPM+ extends network visibility to remote users, Zero Trust environments, data centres, and public cloud infrastructure, including networks that organisations do not directly own or control.

Riverbed said combining packet, flow and endpoint-derived intelligence with AI-powered analysis can help IT teams identify sources of performance issues, assess their impact on users and business operations, and anticipate potential risks.

NPM 360 includes Riverbed IQ, a SaaS-based AI intelligence and automation layer designed to identify issues and support resolution without additional infrastructure, and Riverbed Q, a generative AI conversational assistant that enables network teams to investigate performance issues using natural-language queries.

The offering also includes NPM+, an endpoint-based network observability capability that extends visibility across remote users, Zero Trust environments, public cloud and networks outside an organisation’s direct control, alongside Professional Services to help customers design, deploy and operationalise Network 360 environments with AppResponse or NetProfiler.

“Riverbed is in the upper echelon of companies redefining network operations through the application of AI. What makes Riverbed’s approach particularly compelling is that this intelligence isn’t isolated to network operations,” said Whit Walters, Field CTO & AI Category Lead at GigaOm.

“The same Riverbed IQ intelligence layer extends across Riverbed Aternity and the digital employee experience. Combining network and employee experience intelligence through a common AI foundation creates a powerful opportunity for enterprises to transform IT operations,” Walters continued.

The company said its professional services offering is also intended to help customers establish the required network and data coverage, workflows and operational processes when deploying Network 360.
