India – Tech Mahindra has launched Agentic Development & Modernisation Services, a new services portfolio aimed at helping enterprises modernise application development, operations, and maintenance through the use of agentic artificial intelligence (AI).
The company said the offering is designed to integrate agentic AI across the application lifecycle, enabling organisations to build, evolve, and operate applications in support of AI-led enterprise transformation. The launch also marks a shift in the company’s interpretation of ADMS, which it said now stands for Agentic Development and Modernisation Services rather than Application Development and Maintenance Services.
According to Tech Mahindra, the portfolio combines its experience in application development and managed services with AI-driven delivery models to support modernisation of legacy applications, operational optimisation, and development of digital platforms.
The company said the services leverage agentic AI, contextual reasoning, and intelligent orchestration to enable systems to analyse, adapt, and respond to changing business requirements. The offering is intended to help enterprises improve development speed, operational predictability, quality assurance, and scalability while reducing manual intervention.
Kunal Purohit, President – Next Gen Verticals at Tech Mahindra, said, “As organisations increasingly shift toward AI-native operating models, industry estimates indicate that spending on application implementation and next-generation engineering services is expected to grow significantly over the next several years.”
He added, “This will be driven by the rising demand for intelligent operations, autonomous software engineering, and outcome-driven transformation. With Agentic Development & Modernisation Services, Tech Mahindra is helping enterprises accelerate this transition by enabling more adaptive, resilient, and context-aware application ecosystems that define the future of autonomous enterprises.”
The portfolio is built around four areas:
- Modernising Platforms for Autonomy, which focuses on re-architecting enterprise platforms into modular, API-first, and AI-ready environments.
- Agentic Software Engineering, which embeds AI agents across software engineering and DevSecOps processes.
- Autonomous Operations, which applies intelligent automation, knowledge graphs, reasoning engines, and AIOps capabilities to support monitoring and optimisation.
- Autonomous Quality Fabric, which uses autonomous quality assurance agents to improve testing and reliability across DevOps pipelines.
Tech Mahindra said the services are supported by its engineering and AI platforms, including Swifter.io, AppGinieZ, Reforge, and LitmusT, along with other accelerators focused on software engineering, modernisation, operations, and quality assurance. The company added that the portfolio incorporates its Vector Squad-based delivery model, which combines human expertise with AI agents, as well as a productised pricing approach using “Service Tokens.”
The company said the launch reflects increasing demand for AI-enabled enterprise capabilities, with application modernisation expected to become a growing area of investment as organisations seek autonomous software engineering and intelligent operations.
Commenting on broader market trends, Alisha Mittal, Vice President, Software Engineering at Everest Group, said, “The application services market is entering a more agentic phase, where enterprises are increasingly looking beyond traditional automation toward AI-enabled delivery models that can support continuous evolution, operational resilience, and greater engineering adaptability. As application environments become more complex and change cycles accelerate, the market is seeing growing interest in more intelligent and software-led approaches to application development, modernisation, and operations.”
Tech Mahindra said the new portfolio aligns with its strategy of helping enterprises transition from traditional application environments to AI-native digital ecosystems designed to support ongoing innovation, agility, and business outcomes.
