Philippines – Tech Data, a TD SYNNEX company, has expanded its IBM distribution footprint across Asia Pacific, adding Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, and the Philippines to its specialised IBM distribution operations.
The expansion forms part of TD SYNNEX’s broader global rollout of IBM distribution across 20 additional countries in Asia Pacific, Europe and Latin America. In Malaysia, the business will operate under the Tec D brand.
The move brings Tech Data’s IBM distribution operations to 10 markets across the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region. The company already operates a specialised IBM practice in Australia, India, Singapore and Vietnam.
According to Tech Data, the expanded distribution network is intended to give partners in the newly added markets greater access to IBM solutions and support while providing a more consistent framework for developing IBM-related business across the region.
“This expansion reflects the continued strength of the partnership between Tech Data, a TD SYNNEX company, and IBM across Asia Pacific,” said Jaideep Malhotra, President, TD SYNNEX APJ.
He added, “We are excited to expand our portfolio of IBM solutions to six additional markets – Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, and the Philippines, building on our existing specialised IBM practice in Australia, India, Singapore, and Vietnam. Together, we are creating greater access to IBM technologies, expertise, and support for partners across ten APJ markets, enabling them to capture new growth opportunities and deliver greater value to their ecosystem and customers.”
The expansion also extends partner access to Select Blue, a TD SYNNEX initiative developed with IBM that focuses on areas including artificial intelligence, data and automation.
Mark Martin, VP, Global Vendor Management, TD SYNNEX, emphasised that the expansion will help more partners enter new markets and grow their IBM business through TD SYNNEX’s Select Blue programme.
“With this expansion, we are extending our reach into additional markets while connecting with a broader set of partners looking to grow their IBM business,” he said. “And through our program Select Blue, we’re providing a clear path to engage, specialise, and execute confidently, helping both new and existing partners enter new markets and accelerate revenue growth.”
Tech Data said its support for IBM partners will include enablement, financing, pre-sales assistance and go-to-market support. The company plans to use a common framework across the expanded markets while allowing for local execution.
The regional expansion comes as IBM’s partner ecosystem increasingly focuses on areas such as AI, data and automation. For Tech Data and TD SYNNEX, the broader distribution footprint provides a channel through which partners in additional APJ markets can engage with IBM’s portfolio.
Partners seeking information on IBM opportunities through Tech Data can connect with the company through its Select Blue programme.
