Hong Kong – ZTE (Hong Kong) Limited and The Logistics and Supply Chain MultiTech R&D Centre (LSCM) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on ICT infrastructure, artificial intelligence (AI), general computing, operating systems and cybersecurity, according to ZTE Corporation. The agreement covers work aimed at supporting Hong Kong’s digital and intelligent development.
The two parties signed the MoU on 15 October at Hong Kong Science Park during the LSCM Logistics Summit 2026. Mr Simon Wong, Chief Executive Officer of LSCM, and Ms Wang Huan, Managing Director of ZTE Hong Kong Representative Office, signed on behalf of their organisations.
Ir Prof Alan Lam, Chairman of the Board of Directors of LSCM, and Mr Mei Zhonghua, Senior Vice President of ZTE, jointly witnessed the signing. Representatives of both parties also attended the ceremony.
Under the agreement, the two sides will focus on the C86 next-generation computing platform. They plan to cooperate on locally developed computing infrastructure and on the digital transformation of government bodies and enterprises, with the stated aim of supporting industry development in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area.
In addition, both parties said they will promote technology and talent exchange and draw on their respective research and development strengths. They intend to carry out joint innovation in general computing and AI, and to develop and incubate a digital and intelligent ecosystem tailored to Hong Kong.
The MoU also targets public-sector digital services. The two parties said they reached a consensus on enhancing e-government information services and promoting the local application of secure and reliable diversified technologies in Hong Kong.
LSCM was established in 2006 with funding from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government’s Innovation and Technology Fund. The centre researches and develops technologies for logistics and supply chain-related industries, and helps businesses in Hong Kong and mainland China adopt them.
ZTE Hong Kong, meanwhile, was incorporated in 2000 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of ZTE Corporation, which is listed in Hong Kong and Shenzhen. The company says it serves local operators and has a presence in sectors including the public sector and finance.
