Sydney, Australia – 8×8 Inc., a global integrated customer experience (CX) platform provider, and Modica Group, specialising in intelligent messaging, have announced a new reseller partnership to enhance omnichannel CX capabilities across the Asia-Pacific region.
The collaboration begins with the integration of 8×8 Jitsi as a Service (JaaS) into Modica’s OMNI communications platform as a service (CPaaS) platform, enabling businesses to launch secure, high-quality video sessions directly through SMS, WhatsApp, or MMS without requiring downloads or application switching.
The integration allows organisations to initiate one-click video chats across mobile messaging platforms, offering an efficient and accessible channel for customer engagement.
“We’re excited to partner with Modica to bring seamless, embedded video to their customer experience toolkit,” Aman Basra, director of CPaaS partnerships at 8×8 Inc, commented.
He added, “Together, we’re unlocking richer, more flexible ways for businesses to engage their customers in real time.”
This solution is designed to support a wide range of industries, including financial services, airlines, and the public sector, by delivering real-time, face-to-face communication without additional technical barriers.
Initial deployments are already underway in Australia and New Zealand, including a government agency piloting video capabilities for citizen support. Early use cases being tested include remote patient assessments, insurance claims and field inspections, as well as technical guidance and customer support.
“This partnership allows us to meet rising demand for mobile-first video CX, while keeping enterprise-grade security and compliance front and centre,” Stuart Wilson, CEO and founder of Modica Group, explained.
He further shared, “Customers want secure, frictionless video– and with 8×8, we can now deliver it through our OMNI platform.”
The agreement marks the first phase of a broader collaboration between 8×8 and Modica.
Further initiatives are planned to expand Modica’s OMNI platform with additional 8×8 products, including programmable voice, security features, and over-the-top (OTT) services, aimed at strengthening the company’s enterprise-grade communications offering.
