Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Tune Talk has announced the introduction of Tune Talk Shop, an in-app shopping service developed with Presto. The platform is the first fully integrated e-commerce service launched by a telecommunications provider in Malaysia within its own mobile application.
The new service allows subscribers to browse and purchase products directly through the Tune Talk app without leaving the platform. The move reflects a broader strategy to expand beyond mobile connectivity services and offer additional digital features within a single ecosystem.
In Malaysia, the telecommunications sector has traditionally focused on competing through mobile data pricing and package size. With the addition of Tune Talk Shop, the company is seeking to place greater emphasis on customer value through integrated services such as shopping, rewards and digital engagement.
“We are moving beyond competing solely on GB for RM to providing the best plans and ever-evolving value that truly resonates with Malaysians,” Gurtaj Singh Padda, Co-founder and CEO of Tune Talk, commented.
“Tune Talk Shop is not just an e-commerce feature; it is a fully integrated platform that connects connectivity, rewards, and transactions into one seamless experience.”
Users of the platform are able to access more than 20,000 products, complete purchases through the app, use Tune Talk Points towards transactions, and receive delivery across Malaysia.
Tune Talk manages the payment environment and user experience, while Presto provides backend marketplace support, including catalogue management and fulfilment services. The commerce feature is intended to form part of its wider digital offering rather than operate as a separate add-on service.
“We are proud to enable Tune Talk’s vision by providing the marketplace infrastructure and fulfilment capabilities behind Tune Talk Shop,” Prawn Cheng, CEO of Presto, shared.
“This partnership allows Tune Talk to scale commerce within its ecosystem while maintaining full ownership of the customer experience.”
The latest launch builds on earlier efforts to broaden Tune Talk’s services beyond conventional telecommunications, with the aim of increasing regular app usage and creating new revenue opportunities.
Tune Talk’s new platform is intended to provide subscribers with a more convenient way to access shopping services through a single mobile application while increasing its participation in Malaysia’s expanding digital economy.
