Trend Micro, McLaren Racing to strengthen Formula 1 team’s cybersecurity and data protection

Hong Kong — McLaren Racing has appointed Trend Micro Incorporated, a global cybersecurity provider, as an official partner of the McLaren Formula 1 Team for the remainder of the 2025 season and beyond.

The collaboration is centred on protecting McLaren’s critical digital infrastructure, including operational systems, race data, and sensitive team information. With the increasing reliance on advanced telemetry, cloud environments, and real-time analytics in Formula 1, robust cybersecurity measures are essential to ensure uninterrupted operations and safeguard intellectual property.

Kevin Simzer, chief operating officer of Trend Micro stated how the company is excited for the partnership journey, staying ahead of the curve and leading with confidence in a fast-moving world.

“Partnering with McLaren Racing is more than just a sponsorship; it’s about shared mindset,” Kevin said.

“We are both committed to being the best in our industries, pushing boundaries of innovation with an eye for speed, security, and customer-first experiences that drive lasting impact.”

Trend Micro will deliver advanced threat defence and centralised visibility across McLaren’s digital ecosystem, helping to detect, prevent, and respond to cyber threats more effectively. The partnership builds on previous cooperation between the two organisations in electric racing, extending protection into the high-performance, data-driven environment of Formula 1.

Matt Dennington, co-chief commercial officer at McLaren Racing, expressed his sentiments, being excited to have Trend Micro as an Offical Partner of the McLaren Formula 1 Team.

“Their expertise was invaluable when supporting the team in electric racing and we’re excited to build on that strong foundation as we head into this next chapter together.”

As part of the agreement, Trend Micro will also engage its global network of customers and partners through technology-led activations during the racing season, using McLaren’s platform to highlight the importance of cyber resilience in fast-moving industries.

Trend Micro’s cybersecurity solutions are deployed by organisations worldwide to protect cloud, network, endpoint, and operational technology environments. With its AI-powered platform and decades of global threat research, the company supports enterprises in securing complex digital infrastructures while ensuring compliance and resilience.
