Singapore – Progress Software has launched ShareFile Enterprise, a document collaboration offering that combines identity management, native data loss prevention (DLP) and AI-driven threat detection for larger and regulated organisations.

The company announced the product in Sydney on 19 October 2026. According to Progress, it lets IT and security teams oversee sensitive document workflows from a single platform without changing the user experience.

Progress says the release centres on five capabilities. First, SCIM provisioning with Microsoft Entra ID automates employee provisioning and deactivation, keeping ShareFile access aligned with workforce changes.

Second, SIEM integration with Splunk and Microsoft Sentinel routes supported ShareFile activity and security events into existing security operations centre (SOC) tools. The company says this reduces reliance on manual log exports and custom integrations.

Third, native DLP detects supported sensitive text-based content and has been available since 1 October 2026. Administrators can then set policies that alert, restrict external sharing or prevent downloads.

Two further features also became available on 1 October 2026. User and Entity Behaviour Analytics (UEBA) analyses activity patterns to flag unusual behaviour, such as abnormal downloads, off-hours activity or atypical access.

Alongside it, a centralised security operations experience brings supported alerts, user and activity context and investigation paths into one place. Progress says this shortens the gap between spotting an alert and deciding on a response.

The company framed the launch around a gap between collaboration growth and the controls that govern it. It says IT and security teams often rely on manual provisioning, disconnected monitoring, log exports, user judgement and fragmented investigations of anomalies, which add operational overhead as collaboration scales.

John Yang, Vice President, APJ for Progress Software said, “Enterprise growth increasingly depends on how effectively organisations can collaborate across complex networks of employees, customers and partners. The leaders we speak with are looking for ways to scale those interactions without adding friction to the business. ShareFile Enterprise helps address that challenge with a platform built for the needs of large organisations.”

An existing ShareFile customer also commented on the move. “What became clear to us is that client collaboration is about much more than where files live,” said Scott Jenkins, Director of Information Technology, Keel Point.

“We need the right controls, secure client experiences and workflows to support how we work with clients, families and their advisors. ShareFile gives us that foundation, and Enterprise gives us an opportunity to strengthen it with even greater security, governance and visibility,” Jenkins added.

ShareFile Enterprise builds on the established ShareFile collaboration capabilities, with enhanced access controls and unusual activity detection added for larger organisations. Progress says the aim is to reduce administrative overhead while strengthening security.

Progress executives argue that the existing model of layering manual work onto collaboration tools is reaching its limits. “For most of the last decade, as enterprises’ needs for document collaboration have scaled, they have had to layer manual security and administration work on top of the tools their teams use. With today’s governance and security standards, that model is reaching its limits,” said Loren Jarrett, EVP and General Manager, Digital Experience, Progress Software.
