Sydney, Australia – Progress, a software development company, has recently announced the latest capabilities and enhancements to Progress® Sitefinity®, a cloud-based, AI-powered, enterprise-grade CMS.

In this release, the platform natively supports Next.js, allowing businesses to harness the power of this rapidly growing React framework to provide advanced, modern digital experiences. Sitefinity also offers developers the flexibility to choose between Next.js and ASP.NET Core, empowering Microsoft and JavaScript teams to use the framework that best suits their project needs and expertise.

With feature parity in widget selection and design, templating, and visual page composition provided by the patented technology-agnostic editor of Sitefinity, business users can also benefit from a seamless content management experience supported by its hybrid headless architecture.

Key highlights of this platform also encompass GenAI-Powered low-code workflows, where custom Gen AI-powered functions can be added to content editor UIs via low-code workflows with Sitefinity Integration Hub and Azure OpenAI services. This strategic approach allows editors to easily utilise external AI services to optimise their content.

Another important feature is its customisable business user UI, allowing organisations to modify interfaces with micro-apps in Sitefinity SaaS, adapting the platform to unique processes while ensuring seamless upgrades.

Lastly, the addition of Next.js support allows Sitefinity SaaS to be the industry’s first SaaS CMS to feature integrated multi-technology frontend hosting for flexible development in addition to supporting upgradeability and backend customisations. Organisations can now build digital experiences on a CMS that supports future growth without compromising on business requirements.

Loren Jarrett, EVP and GM, Digital Experience at Progress, said, “Developers want to use their technology of choice when building digital experiences, and Sitefinity is now the right solution for React developers in addition to.NET developers.”

“The addition of Next.js support in Sitefinity underscores our commitment to embracing the latest frontend technologies and puts more power and choice in the hands of our customers to create world-class digital experiences,” Jarrett further shared.

Richard Quance, head of content at Racing and Wagering Western Australia, also remarked, “Our goal was to connect our extensive racing content and data in a more meaningful way. The Next.js capabilities within Sitefinity proved to be a critical enabler for us to create a cohesive, rich customer experience that better serves our online audience.”
