Bengaluru, India – Infosys, an Indian multinational tech company, has recently announced the inauguration of the Formula E Stats Centre, developed in partnership with the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.

Using Infosys Topaz, the new Stats Centre aims to redefine fan engagement by offering advanced, data-driven insights and immersive experiences. It also intends to make fans enjoy interactive access to top driver and team performances, key milestones, and captivating stories via its Key Stats and Insights platform.

The platform, in particular, engages users with a unique trending bubble chat format, offering stats from both current and past seasons and presenting engaging, curated questions. This strategic approach simplifies complex data and deepens fan engagement with the sport.

Key features of the Stats Centre include dynamic key stat cards which adapt based on the season’s timeline. These cards highlight race stats and provide fans with an in-depth understanding of past and upcoming racetracks, inspiring them to follow and look forward to those track locations.

Another key feature is the integration of grounded knowledge bases, containing data from all past seasons, races, and drivers, to train the AI. This ensures fans receive accurate, relevant, and engaging content, enhancing the experience for Formula E enthusiasts globally.

According to the firm, the Stats Centre generates AI-powered human-like text summarisations, replacing the previous manual process of editing race summaries and driver/team performances. Stats now provide compelling insights from the past 10 seasons.

Lastly, it also involves a simple interface that engages users and educates them about various milestones and stats across the Formula E season. This new tool enables fans to prompt unique questions and access key summaries or insights.

Jeff Dodds, chief executive officer at Formula E, said, “Fans are at the heart of what we do, and we’re thrilled to offer them a new and engaging way to connect with the sport. As our first technical partnership with Infosys, we’re showcasing how innovation and technology can elevate the experience for everyone who loves Formula E by making race data more accessible and easier to understand.”

“Fans will be able to follow their favourite driver and team with in-depth insights and track their performance over the seasons ahead,” he further noted.

Season 11 also marks a revolutionary chapter for Formula E with the debut of the GEN3 Evo, a leap in electric racing technology that combines blistering performance, cutting-edge sustainability, and unparalleled efficiency.

With a 0-60 mph time of just 1.82 seconds, the GEN3 Evo stands as the fastest-accelerating FIA single-seater, outpacing current Formula 1 cars by 30% and reinforcing Formula E’s mission to push technological boundaries while championing sustainability.

Sumit Virmani, EVP and global chief marketing officer at Infosys, also shared, “Our partnership with Formula E proves how technology can revolutionise fan engagement. The AI-powered Stats Centre, fuelled by Infosys Topaz, transforms raw data into compelling narratives, offering fans an immersive journey through driver and team performance, celebrating key milestones and unlocking compelling stories.”

“From dynamic stat cards that adapt to the race timeline to an AI companion that prompts engaging questions, we’re supercharging the Formula E fan experience, making its rich history and exciting present more accessible and engaging, ultimately raising the bar for digital fan engagement,” shared Virmani.

Spearheading the transition, the company also moved Formula E’s central data datalake to Google Cloud, establishing a robust and scalable architecture that facilitates marketing, business intelligence, and sporting operations. This initiative marks a significant step forward in Infosys’ three-year partnership with Formula E.
