Singapore – Meta has announced that Manus, an autonomous AI agent developer, is joining the company as part of efforts to expand the reach of general-purpose AI agents across its consumer and business products.
According to Meta, Manus has developed an autonomous general-purpose agent capable of executing complex tasks such as market research, coding and data analysis. Meta said Manus will continue to operate and sell its existing service while also being integrated into Meta’s products, including Meta AI.
Manus launched its first General AI Agent earlier this year and is currently serving millions of users and businesses globally. The company said its agent has processed more than 147 trillion tokens and enabled the creation of over 80 million virtual computers. Meta stated that it plans to scale the service to reach more businesses over time.
As part of the move, Manus’s team will join Meta to support the development of general-purpose agents across Meta’s platforms. Meta said the collaboration aims to improve services for billions of people and millions of businesses worldwide.
In a separate announcement, Manus said the development represents validation of its work in building General AI Agents. Since launch, the company has focused on developing an agent designed to support research, automation and complex tasks, with an emphasis on reliability and real-world applications. Manus reiterated that its agent has processed more than 147 trillion tokens and powered over 80 million virtual computers in a matter of months.
Manus said it will continue to operate its subscription service through its app and website, and that the company will remain based in Singapore. It also stated that the transition is not expected to disrupt existing customers.
“Our top priority is ensuring that this change won’t be disruptive for our customers. We will continue to sell and operate our product subscription service through our app and website. The company will continue to operate from Singapore,” Manus said.
Looking ahead, Manus said it hopes to expand its subscription offering to more businesses and users through Meta’s platforms.
“Joining Meta allows us to build on a stronger, more sustainable foundation without changing how Manus works or how decisions are made,” said Xiao Hong, CEO of Manus. “We’re excited about what the future holds with Meta and Manus working together and we will continue to iterate the product and serve users that have defined Manus from the beginning.”
