Malaysia – Huawei Malaysia, an ICT and smart device provider, has recently announced new collaborations with local industry leaders commemorated through the signing of four memoranda of understanding.

These strategic partnerships, exchanged in the presence of Digital Minister YB Gobind Singh Deo and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Governor Lan Tianli, aim to drive AI-powered advancements in e-commerce, logistics, and smart government services.

They are also designed to boost the country’s digital ecosystem using AI, cloud, and advanced digital infrastructure.

Among the collaborations, Huawei’s partnership with Skyvast Cloud will see them promoting the Sovereign AI Cloud infrastructure. This move marks the first international deployment of Huawei’s Ascend GPUs, along with Kunpeng servers, cloud platforms, and networking solutions.

Particularly, Skyvast will take charge of business development, market strategy, and application use case insights across Malaysia and the ASEAN region.

In the logistics sector, Huawei Malaysia and Tiong Nam Logistics Solutions Sdn Bhd (Tiong Nam) will partner to embed AI and cloud technologies into warehouse and supply chain operations. Tiong Nam will also spearhead the design, build, and operation of these tech solutions, with Huawei providing the cloud and AI infrastructure.

Meanwhile, Huawei Malaysia has entered a three-way MoU with HeiTech Padu Berhad (HeiTech Padu) and MY E.G. Services (MyEG) to explore AI-powered digital solutions for government services, including immigration and transportation.

This collaboration will allow Huawei Malaysia to supply its cloud platform, AI technology, private cloud infrastructure, and implementation support.

These MoU exchanges involving Guilin University of Electronic Technology and Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah, along with Guangxi Minzu University and Tunku Abdul Rahman University, were also witnessed by Gobind Singh and Lan Tianli.

By fostering AI adoption and fuelling digital progress, these partnerships reinforce NAIO’s vision to position Malaysia as a top technology hub in Southeast Asia.

The MoU exchange ceremony was hosted at the Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre, gathering prominent leaders from both the industry and academia in Malaysia and China to solidify these strategic partnerships.
