Indonesia – GoTo Group, a digital tech firm in Indonesia, has recently announced its strategic collaboration with Tencent Cloud and Alibaba to strengthen the country’s cloud computing infrastructure and digital skills development.
Under the agreement, said companies aim to equip Indonesia’s workforce with the essential skills required to thrive in the current global digital economy. This move further reaffirms their shared commitment to advance the country’s digital transformation and economic growth.
According to the firm, Tencent Cloud also plans to establish its third Internet Data Centre (IDC) in Indonesia, with the firm committing around US$500m in infrastructure, resources, and investment across the country by 2030.
On the other hand, Alibaba Cloud has built three data centres and is collaborating with local schools and universities to provide cloud and AI training for around 400,000 people.
Patrick Walujo, president and director at GoTo Group, said, “Through a partnership with Tencent Cloud and Alibaba Cloud, we not only ensure that the GoTo platform remains safe and resilient but also empower Indonesia’s digital economy with large investments in cloud infrastructure and training to develop local digital talent.”
The recent partnership between the three companies was announced during the Indonesia-China Business Forum and was attended by Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia.
