Manila, Philippines – FedEx, a logistics services company, has recently announced the expansion of its e-commerce offerings in the Philippines with the introduction of its international, day-definite shipping service. Said solution will empower local businesses to engage more seamlessly in global trade.
As per the company’s latest statement, it was revealed that the FedEx International Connect Plus (FICP) is designed to provide Philippine e-commerce merchants with affordable and dependable shipping solutions to Europe and the United States.
Prior to its rollout in the country, it was also already introduced in some Asia-Pacific countries, including China, Hong Kong, and Japan. With this, the company expects that the service will boost cross-border e-commerce between the Philippines, Europe, and the US.
Furthermore, FedEx ensures that shipments sent through this service will reach their destinations in the US and Europe within two to three business days.
Maribeth Espinosa, managing director at FedEx Philippines, said, “This service reinforces our commitment to delivering innovative, cost-effective shipping solutions that help Philippine businesses grow and compete in international markets while delivering an enhanced experience to their customers.”
Meanwhile, data from FedEx found that e-commerce sales in Asia are forecasted to grow at a rate of 17.6% from 2023, reaching $13.209b by 2030. By 2026, the Philippine e-commerce market is expected to hit Php969b.
In addition to home delivery, the new service also offers customers the flexibility to choose from various pickup locations and adjust the delivery date and address.
