Singapore – FedEx, a package transportation firm, has recently announced the launch of the FedEx Import Tool, which employs advanced technology in addressing the complexities of international trade in Asia Pacific.

With an automated single-window solution, this new tool aims to transform the import process, offering importers a more simple and efficient overall end-to-end experience.

The tool further offers several key features, which include a unified self-service platform to optimise the shipping process by centralising document management and shipment tracking. It also provides a dashboard for greater visibility into every stage of the import shipments.

Proactive notifications are also among its features, which intend to accelerate the clearance process and minimise delays. Lastly, the system provides continuous monitoring, enabling shippers and importers to follow their shipments for as long as 90 days post-pickup.

Speaking about the initiative, Kawal Preet, president of Asia-Pacific at FedEx, stated, “As the pace of business increases, FedEx Import Tool is a timely introduction that underscores the value we bring to our customers. Leveraging intuitive digital solutions that provide importers with real-time data at their fingertips represents a significant leap in supply chain efficiency.”

“This advancement makes supply chain planning easier and streamlines shipping processes. The end result is that customers get more time back to focus on growing their business by optimising other crucial aspects of their operations,” Preet further explained.

The FedEx Import Tool, designed to reduce manual work in customs documentation and regulatory compliance, will soon be introduced in more APAC countries, including Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, and New Zealand. It is also currently available for customers in Australia, Japan, Taiwan, and Korea, helping importers streamline customs clearance.
