Equinix expands in the Philippines with new AI-ready infrastructure ecosystem

Our What’s NEXT in Marketing 2026 Conference Series returns to the Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia—and for the first time in Thailand! Brace yourself for bold ideas driving the next marketing wave. Stay tuned!

Manila, Philippines – Equinix, Inc. has officially commenced operations in the Philippines, introducing its suite of interconnection and digital infrastructure services, including Equinix Fabric, Fabric Cloud Router, and Equinix Internet Access. These services provide businesses with secure, high-speed connections to a wide range of network, cloud, and AI service providers through a private network.

The launch follows Equinix’s acquisition of three data centres in Manila, reflecting its commitment to strengthening the Philippines’ growing digital economy.

The Philippines continues to gain traction as one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-developing digital markets, supported by expanding infrastructure, a dynamic e-commerce sector, and increased adoption of AI technologies. Through its new operations, Equinix aims to facilitate the country’s digital transformation by enabling organisations to integrate emerging technologies and operate efficiently within a global ecosystem.

Cyrus Adaggra, president of Asia-Pacific at Equinix, shared that the Philippines is a key player in Southeast Asia’s future with a fast-growing economy, young workforce, and thriving innovation ecosystem.

“The introduction of our interconnection services will be a game changer for the Philippines, helping businesses digitise more quickly and paving the way for AI adoption,” Cyrus commented.

“Our goal is to drive this momentum by shortening the path to boundless connectivity, enabling more businesses to scale, expand, and compete globally.”

Equinix Fabric allows businesses in the Philippines, including those in financial services and telecommunications, to interconnect physical and virtual infrastructure across multiple global markets. This capability supports scalable, secure growth and enables organisations to accelerate their AI initiatives and cross-border expansion.

International enterprises entering the Philippine market can also benefit from faster infrastructure deployment and greater operational agility.

“By bringing world-class services to our shores, we are better positioned to empower businesses, government, and communities to fully participate in the digital economy and help build more connected business environments,” Secretary Henry Aguda from the department of information and communications technology in the Philippines, stated.

By hosting both local and international carriers, Equinix enhances network resilience and performance while ensuring service continuity across regions. The company’s interconnection platform provides direct access to major hyperscale cloud providers and AI infrastructure partners, allowing enterprises to create hybrid multicloud environments and adjust connectivity in line with business demands.

Equinix’s three data centres in Manila — MN1, MN2 and MN3 — support latency-sensitive workloads by storing and processing data closer to end-users. Together, they provide over 1,000 cabinets of capacity, with provisions for future expansion within Equinix’s global network.

“This development strengthens the country’s position as a key player in the regional data infrastructure landscape and is a step forward, fulfilling the administration’s vision of attracting high-value, innovation-driven investments,” Secretary Frederick D. Go, special assistant to the president for investment and economic affairs in the Philippines, shared.

Equinix operates more than 270 data centres in 77 metropolitan areas across 36 countries, including 64 facilities in 18 key Asia-Pacific markets such as Australia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines.

The company also maintains operations in Shanghai through a strategic partnership. Across Southeast Asia, Equinix continues to expand its presence in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand to address increasing regional demand for digital infrastructure and connectivity.
