Singapore – Databricks, a global data, analytics, and artificial intelligence company, has recently introduced SAP Databricks in collaboration with software company SAP.

This joint effort incorporates the Databricks data intelligence platform into the latter’s newly launched business data cloud, strengthening the platform’s enterprise data capabilities.

In particular, SAP’s essential business data integrated into the Databricks platform will enhance data warehousing, engineering, and AI, all managed under the Databricks Unity Catalogue.

Following its $15b in fundraising, Databricks announced its plans to allocate $250m to help customers and system integrators streamline SAP Databricks deployments and migrations, ensuring they maximise the value of their SAP data.

SAP applications power enterprises’ most important decisions around business planning, procurement, HR, and travel management. Every enterprise wants to maximise the value of their SAP data by combining it with data from their other business-critical systems.

Many of these systems, however, remain on-premises within outdated platforms, limiting the ability to implement sophisticated analytics and AI solutions.

With SAP Databricks, both companies ensure all essential datasets are enriched and readily available for data warehousing and AI-driven decision-making.

Ali Ghodsi, co-founder and CEO at Databricks, said, “Every organisation is searching for a faster, more reliable way to translate their data into strategic advantage. Together with SAP, we’re helping businesses seamlessly unify their data sources, streamline analytics, and accelerate the development of domain-specific AI applications.”

Muhammad Alam, executive board member at SAP, also commented, “Our partnership with Databricks represents a turning point in how enterprise data is harnessed. Together, we’re fusing SAP’s proven expertise in mission-critical applications with Databricks’ cutting-edge data engineering and AI capabilities to help our customers unlock the next era of digital innovation.”
