Malaysia — Aduna has entered into a partnership with Maxis to extend its global network API platform into Malaysia, aiming to support faster and more secure digital services across multiple industries.
The collaboration seeks to combine Aduna’s aggregation model with Maxis’s connectivity to enable developers and enterprises to innovate with interoperable network capabilities. This agreement, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the GSMA Digital Nation Summit 2025 in Singapore, will give Malaysian businesses streamlined access to Aduna’s suite of APIs.
By reducing integration complexity, the partnership is intended to speed up solution deployment, strengthen online security, and support the development of new customer-facing services.
Initial focus areas include number verification, SIM Swap, KYC Match, and location verification. These application programming interfaces (APIs) play a crucial role in tackling fraud and securing digital transactions, particularly in financial services, e-commerce, and hyperscale operations.
“By partnering with Maxis, we are bringing our unified platform to one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic digital economies,” Anthony Bartolo, CEO of Aduna, explained.
“Together, we will enable developers and enterprises in Malaysia to create powerful, secure, and scalable solutions that deliver real business impact.”
Network APIs are increasingly being used to connect software and connectivity layers, providing opportunities to scale services across networks and borders. Through Aduna’s aggregation model, developers can leverage standardised tools that improve efficiency and create consistent user experiences.
Maxis’s involvement builds on its support for industry-wide interoperability efforts. The company aligns with the GSMA Open Gateway framework and CAMARA Project and has contributed to regional initiatives such as the Bridge Alliance API Exchange (BAEx).
It also participated in the first cross-border federation of telco APIs in 2024, alongside operators in Thailand and Singapore, aimed at enhancing authentication and fraud prevention.
“APIs play a crucial role in the modern digital economy, and we are committed to leveraging them to unlock greater value for businesses,” Prateek Pashine, chief enterprise business officer at Maxis, stated.
He added, “Through this partnership, we can enable the development of more secure, user-centric services backed by seamless access to advanced network APIs.”
The partnership positions Maxis as a key player in Malaysia’s digitalisation agenda, while providing Aduna with a strategic entry point into one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing digital markets. Both companies expect the collaboration to deliver long-term benefits for enterprises, developers, and end users.
