Malaysia – Revenue Group Berhad, a Malaysia-headquartered firm specialising in cashless payment solutions, has announced the appointment of its wholly-owned indirect subsidiary, Revenue Solution Sdn Bhd, as an acquirer for WeixinPay in the country.

In a recent statement, the company emphasised that said alliance reinforces its position in the digital payment landscape, empowering merchants to accept seamless domestic and cross-border transactions through an RMB-denominated e-wallet globally.

This initiative further complements the company’s mission to lead the cashless payment revolution and enhance financial inclusion. With the addition of Weixin Pay to its suite of payment offerings, the company aims to boost e-wallet usage across key industries such as retail, hospitality, F&B, and tourism.

Furthermore, F&B brands like Food Republic and Food Place will also significantly benefit from this partnership. Given the acceptance of Weixin Pay, these merchants can further elevate the customer experience by offering hassle-free digital payment options for both locals and travellers.

Teh Chee Hoe, executive director at REVENUE, said, “Becoming an official acquirer for Weixin Pay marks a significant milestone in REVENUE’s mission to continuously develop and evolve the cashless payments capabilities for our partners and merchants.”

“This partnership demonstrates our commitment to delivering innovative payment solutions that address the evolving needs of businesses and consumers. We’re excited to help merchants connect with a broader audience and drive digital transformation in the payments landscape,” he further explained.

Meanwhile, David Chong, assistant regional director, Southeast Asia at Weixin Pay, commented, “With their extensive experience and innovative solutions, we are confident that this collaboration will bring greater convenience and value to both Malaysian merchants.”

Since its inception in 2003, Revenue has already served a range of customers from banks and non-bank financial institutions to physical and online merchants and e-money payment platforms.
