Singapore – ESET has expanded its consumer and small office/home office (SOHO) cybersecurity offerings with new features designed to detect AI-driven scams, monitor AI agent activity and strengthen online privacy.
The upgrades to ESET HOME Security and ESET Small Business Security introduce an AI Security layer that aims to protect users from malicious links, unsafe AI-generated content and emerging threats targeting AI tools.
“As AI becomes part of everyday life across Asia Pacific, it is changing both how people use technology and how cybercriminals target them,” said Parvinder Walia, President of APAC Region at ESET.
“Consumers and small businesses need protection that keeps pace with these changes, without adding complexity to their daily lives. With these new capabilities, we are helping users recognise and avoid scams, safeguard sensitive information, and use AI tools with greater confidence,” Walia continued.
The new AI Security capabilities include AI Conversation Security, which scans URLs included in responses from ChatGPT and flags links associated with phishing, malicious or potentially unwanted content. It also scans scripts generated by large language models to help prevent users from running malicious code. Support for other models, including Gemini and Copilot, is planned.
AI Agent Security monitors files, scripts and external URLs accessed or downloaded by AI agents before execution. AI Behavioural Monitoring complements this by tracking agent activity to identify unusual actions, suspicious access attempts and potentially unsafe download sources.
ESET has also introduced AI Skills Checker, a free online tool that uses AI Agent Security technology to scan AI skills — add-ons that extend the functionality of AI tools — for signs of malicious activity and risky behaviour before installation.
Another addition, Browser Screen Protection, is designed to prevent unauthorised screenshots, screen recording and screen sharing. It also aims to protect against information-stealing software and screen-capture malware, particularly during online banking, shopping and private browsing.
The company has expanded its mobile protection to iOS through ESET Mobile Security for iOS, available in free and premium versions on the App Store.
The free version includes Link Checker, which checks URLs against ESET’s database of malicious links, and Device Scan, which identifies potential security weaknesses in device settings and permissions. Device Settings Check reviews protections such as screen locks, notification handling and available storage for future updates.
Premium features include Anti-Phishing for Safari, which blocks malicious pages before they load, and Connection Security, which flags potentially risky or unsecured Wi-Fi networks and allows users to define trusted networks.
ESET Small Business Security also gains Web Control, which allows administrators to configure web access settings for employees. The feature is intended to restrict access to pages containing dangerous or inappropriate content, potentially offensive material, intellectual property violations or content that could affect workplace productivity.
