Manila, Philippines – Philippine Airlines (PAL) has selected IBS Software’s iCargo platform to replace its existing cargo management system, supporting the airline’s efforts to modernise domestic and international cargo operations.
The cloud-based platform integrates cargo sales, ground handling operations and revenue accounting within a single system. Its implementation will cover PAL’s cargo business across its domestic and international network, including requirements for customs reporting, duties and tax settlement, and regulatory compliance.
The transition is intended to improve system performance, data analytics and shipment visibility, while reducing manual processes and supporting faster shipment handling. The platform will also provide a foundation for further digitisation as the airline’s cargo volumes grow.
By consolidating cargo functions into an integrated system, PAL aims to improve operational reliability and provide customers with more consistent shipment information throughout the delivery process. The airline expects the platform to support its longer-term plans for business growth and operational improvements.
The selection also builds on an existing relationship between PAL and IBS Software, expanding the range of the technology provider’s products used by the airline. IBS Software said its proposal was selected based on its technology capabilities and experience delivering cargo system transformations for airlines.
“This initiative represents an important step in the modernisation of our cargo business,” said Jason Siy, Vice President for Cargo Business at Philippine Airlines.
“As we grow across our domestic and international network, we need a system that increases visibility, improves operational efficiency and enables us to deliver a better experience for our customers. We see iCargo as a key enabler of our long-term cargo transformation strategy and of our ambition to build an even stronger cargo business for the future,” Siy continued.
“Philippine Airlines has a clear vision for the future of its cargo business, and we are proud to support that journey,” said Sunil George, Vice President & Region Head of Oceania at IBS Software.
“This partnership is about more than implementing a new cargo platform. It is about working closely with PAL to build the digital foundation for future growth, innovation and operational excellence, and continuing a relationship we value deeply,” George continued.
