Singapore – Convera has appointed four senior executives to lead its product, technology, and operations functions as the payments company works on an integrated global money movement platform. The company announced the changes on 13 October.
Mike Cahill becomes EVP and Chief Operating Officer, while Jon Southall joins as SVP and Chief Technology Officer. Tui Allen takes the role of SVP and Chief Product Officer, and Chris Steinig is now Chief Information Officer.
The four will lead delivery of Convera’s roadmap for a platform that combines cross-border payments, FX risk management, and multi-currency capabilities for businesses. Convera says the executives bring experience in building and scaling global payments, product, technology and operational platforms.
The company links the roadmap to two market conditions: the emergence of agentic commerce and persistent currency volatility. In its view, businesses operating across borders need to send, receive and hold money in the currencies they trade in.
Convera adds that these businesses also need to manage FX exposure at the point of payment and route transactions across the most appropriate payment rail for speed, cost and visibility.
Group CEO Patrick Gauthier set out the company’s reasoning for the appointments. “Businesses don’t just need faster or less expensive cross-border payments. They need to know where their money is, what it is worth and how to protect it as it moves,” said Gauthier.
“That is the opportunity in front of Convera. Our global reach, FX expertise, regulatory depth and customer relationships enable us to solve that problem in a way few providers can. Mike, Jon, Tui and Chris are proven leaders with the experience, judgement and execution discipline to help us deliver for customers. Each brings a distinct perspective, and together they give us the leadership depth to advance our roadmap for integrated cross-border money movement,” Gauthier added.
Cahill will lead Convera’s combined Product, Technology and Operations organisation. He joined the company in June 2026 as Interim Chief Product and Technology Officer, and has since worked to bring those functions together.
His earlier career includes scaling financial platforms and leading transformations at Early Warning Services, the company behind Zelle, as well as at PayPal, Boku and American Express.
Southall arrives from PayPal, where he managed the Large Enterprise Platform. Convera says that platform supports more than $1.5 trillion in annual transaction volume.
He has also built payment platforms at Boku and Braintree. According to Convera, his experience in high-volume infrastructure will support faster, more reliable and more visible money movement for customers.
Allen comes from Ticketmaster/Live Nation, where Convera says she helped modernise product experiences at scale. She previously built new solutions at Shopify.
Convera says she brings experience in turning complex customer needs into products that are easier to use, integrate and adopt.
Steinig moves into the CIO role after leading Convera’s technology operations. A 25-year veteran of the company, he has deep knowledge of its systems, infrastructure and operating environment, according to Convera.
In his new position, Steinig will connect platform modernisation, enterprise technology and operational resilience. Convera says the aim is to deliver its roadmap with the reliability and control customers expect.
Cahill outlined the team’s priorities in his own statement. “This team brings complementary strengths across product, technology and operations, backed by experience delivering at global scale,” said Cahill.
“Our focus is disciplined execution: translating customer needs into products, modernizing the technology that supports them and delivering consistently in every market we serve. That is how we will make cross-border money movement simpler, more connected and more valuable for our customers,” Cahill continued.
The appointments follow continued investment by Convera in technology, product delivery and commercial capabilities. These include Multi-Currency Accounts and APIs, which Convera says allow banks, fintechs and business platforms to embed its payments and FX risk management capabilities into their own customer experiences.
