Singapore – Tenable is collaborating with OpenAI on a new security review process designed to help organisations assess AI agents, skills, MCP servers and multi-agent playbooks before deploying them in enterprise environments.
The CyberAgents Exchange AI Inspector, also known as Exchange Inspector, combines OpenAI GPT cyber models with Tenable’s security expertise and researcher review to assess AI components available through the CyberAgents Exchange.
The process was announced at OpenAI’s Intelligence at Work: Cyber Summit and is expected to become available in September.
The collaboration follows Tenable’s participation in the OpenAI Daybreak Defence Network. It combines frontier assessment using OpenAI GPT cyber models with skills inspection through Tenable One AI Exposure and reviews by Tenable researchers.
The companies said the approach is intended to help security teams identify and prioritise risks as enterprises increasingly adopt agentic AI.
“Agentic AI will only reach its potential in the enterprise if security teams can trust the components being introduced into their environments,” said Eric Doerr, Chief Product Officer at Tenable.
“By combining OpenAI GPT cyber models with Tenable’s security expertise and researcher review, we’re building a more rigorous way to inspect community-built AI components before they’re used in enterprise environments. This is an important step in applying frontier AI to help defenders identify and prioritise risk across the growing agent ecosystem,” Doerr continued.
The CyberAgents Exchange was launched in August 2026 as an open-source registry for AI agents, skills, MCP servers and multi-agent playbooks. Following a SWARM build event hosted by Tenable at Black Hat USA, the platform now contains more than 100 community-submitted AI components.
The Exchange Inspector is designed to provide an additional security assessment layer for components submitted to the registry before they are introduced into enterprise environments.
The announcement comes as organisations explore the use of AI agents capable of carrying out tasks across cybersecurity and other business functions, increasing the need for security teams to assess the risks associated with third-party and community-built components.
