Philippines – AsiaPay has partnered with Generika Drugstore to overhaul the pharmacy chain’s digital payment infrastructure in the Philippines.

The tie-up integrates AsiaPay’s payment product, PesoPay, into Generika’s online platform, giving the retailer the ability to accept a wider range of payment methods.

Generika Drugstore is the retail pharmaceutical arm of AC Health, the healthcare arm of the Ayala Group, and operates more than 800 stores across the country.

Under the partnership, customers can now pay through credit and debit cards from Visa, Mastercard, JCB and UnionPay.

They can also use e-wallets, including GCash, which processes transactions in real time and reaches a large share of the Philippine population.

Netbanking has been added as well, allowing customers to pay directly through major Philippine banks.

Beyond payment options, the integration brings QR Ph-compliant payments into Generika’s checkout flow, alongside the existing card, e-wallet and netbanking rails.

The companies said the upgraded checkout process is designed to be faster and more intuitive, while remaining integrated with standard prescription verification checks.

On the security front, AsiaPay said the system uses industry-standard tokenisation and fraud protection tools to safeguard customer transaction data.

The partnership also introduces automated reconciliation, reporting and settlement processes, which are intended to streamline Generika’s back-end operations and support quicker order fulfilment.

In addition, the integration gives Generika access to aggregate payment analytics, which the company can use to inform operational decisions in line with data privacy standards.

Joseph Chan, CEO of AsiaPay, said, “We are delighted to partner with Generika Drugstore to bring AsiaPay’s proven regional payment expertise and secure technology platform to the Philippines’ fast-growing digital economy.”

“As a trusted name under the Ayala Group, Generika Drugstore represents the highest standard of reliability and service in the healthcare sector. Our solutions are designed to deliver both flexibility and security, and we are proud to support Generika Drugstore in making quality, affordable healthcare more accessible to Filipinos through seamless digital payments”, Chan continued.

The move comes as both of the companies continue their digital transformation, positioning the payment upgrade as part of their broader push to serve a growing base of online customers.
