SailPoint, AWS expand collaboration to strengthen identity governance for agentic AI environments

Singapore – SailPoint has entered into a multi-year strategic collaboration agreement with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to enhance identity governance capabilities for agentic AI deployments.

The arrangement builds on an existing relationship between the two organisations and positions SailPoint as a preferred provider of identity governance solutions for AI-driven workloads operating on AWS infrastructure.

The collaboration is intended to advance the development of a unified governance framework capable of overseeing both human and non-human identities interacting with AWS services. As organisations increasingly deploy AI agents to perform tasks across systems and applications, the complexity of managing access and maintaining security controls has grown significantly.

“For AI to be a true business accelerant, it must be built on a foundation of security. Our collaboration with AWS is about providing that foundation,” Mark McClain, CEO and founder of SailPoint, commented.

“By building a unified identity plane, we believe we will give our joint customers the visibility and control they need to manage the complexity of an AI-driven ecosystem, allowing them to innovate boldly and securely.”

Under the agreement, both companies plan to deliver a consolidated governance layer designed to help enterprises manage identities, enforce access policies, and retain operational oversight as AI-based processes expand across cloud environments. The initiative reflects a broader industry shift towards securing machine-driven interactions alongside traditional user access.

The partnership also builds upon existing integrations between SailPoint’s identity security platform and AWS services. This includes ongoing work in agent identity security, with the aim of enabling organisations to apply consistent governance standards across a wider range of digital identities. The approach is expected to support visibility into identity relationships and improve control over access permissions in dynamic, AI-enabled systems.

Key areas of focus include establishing lifecycle management processes for all identity types, implementing continuous least-privilege access through data-driven analysis, and creating a unified view of identity relationships across systems, applications, and data environments. The collaboration also aims to introduce automated policy enforcement mechanisms that can respond to changes in risk profiles, user roles, or behavioural patterns.

“As customers build transformative new experiences, they need a trusted framework for security and governance,” Keshav Narsipur, VP of identity and access management, cloud governance and infrastructure as code at AWS, stated.

“This collaboration brings together SailPoint’s leadership in identity with the power of AWS, enabling our customers to confidently deploy and scale their AI agents.”

In addition to technical development, the agreement is designed to expand commercial opportunities for both organisations and support customers transitioning to cloud-based identity platforms.

SailPoint’s identity security offerings, including solutions focused on machine and agent identities, are now accessible through AWS Marketplace, providing customers with additional procurement and deployment options as they scale their use of AI.
