Singapore – Google Gemini and Antom, the merchant payment and digitisation services provider under Ant International, have announced a strategic partnership aimed at expanding access to AI tools for learning, creativity and productivity across Asia.

The partnership initially launched in Indonesia, where the initiative has reached about 10 million users, with plans to expand into additional markets.

The collaboration will use A+Rewards, Antom’s digital marketing solution that combines privacy-preserving computing and AI technologies, alongside Antom’s network of digital payment apps, e-commerce platforms and lifestyle service providers.

The initiative is intended to support the distribution of Google AI Plus through selected digital payment and retail channels in Indonesia, with other markets expected to follow.

A+Rewards is integrated with more than 30 digital platform partners and provides in-app entry points where users can discover offers from participating brands and digital services, including subscription trials and other benefits. Antom said the wider network connects about 2.85 billion active digital payment users.

Google AI Plus expands in Indonesia

The initiative began in Indonesia in July with a 12-month free trial of Google AI Plus for students aged between 18 and 25.

Eligible users can access the offer through selected channels, including digital wallets DANA and GoPay, e-commerce platform Tokopedia, and participating offline locations of Indonesian dessert and beverage brand MomoYo.

Ant International said the initiative has reached about 10 million users in Indonesia to date.

“We share Google Gemini’s goal of making AI services more accessible to more people and building the skills they need for an AI-enabled future,” said Gary Liu, CEO of Antom and Senior Vice President of Ant International.

“We’re building a two-way growth engine: helping AI companies connect with local users through the platforms and merchants they engage with, while enabling our local partners to enrich their offerings and deepen user engagement,” Liu continued.

The companies said the partnership is intended to use Antom’s payment and digital services infrastructure to support the subscription lifecycle for AI companies, including billing, tax, risk management, marketing and account services.

Further market expansion is planned following the initial launch in Indonesia.
