Singtel Group’s Nxera launches high-density, energy-efficient multi-tenant data centre in Singapore

Singapore – Nxera, the regional data centre business of the Singtel Group, has commenced operations at DC Tuas, a new multi-tenant facility in Singapore designed to support AI, cloud and high-performance computing applications. The development increases Nxera’s total capacity in the country to 120MW and is intended to address rising demand from enterprises and hyperscale operators.

The site provides 58MW of capacity configured for AI workloads and is described as the highest power-density data centre in Singapore. More than 90% of its available capacity had been allocated to customers before its official opening.

DC Tuas has been built to accommodate higher rack densities associated with next-generation AI infrastructure. Operating as a carrier-neutral facility, it incorporates a large deployment of direct-to-chip liquid cooling in Singapore. The cooling system is designed to improve heat dissipation while lowering electricity and water consumption compared with conventional air-based approaches.

“DC Tuas reinforces the country’s position as a global AI hub and supports accelerating AI adoption,” Bill Chang, CEO of Nxera & Singtel’s Digital InfraCo, comments.

“It also demonstrates our expertise in delivering next-generation digital infrastructure and our abilities with Nxera in attracting and developing an exciting and diverse AI ecosystem for Singapore.”

The eight-storey building spans approximately 120,000 square feet and is integrated with a cable landing station, providing direct connectivity to both domestic and international networks. This configuration is intended to reduce latency and enhance network resilience for organisations running critical and latency-sensitive workloads.

Environmental considerations form part of the facility’s design and operations. It features high-efficiency electrical systems, advanced thermal management and on-site solar energy generation, as well as water-saving measures including rainwater collection, condensate reuse and blowdown recovery. The facility reports a power usage effectiveness rating of 1.25, reflecting its energy performance in a tropical climate.

The opening of DC Tuas forms part of Singtel Digital InfraCo’s broader regional infrastructure strategy, which includes connectivity assets, subsea cable systems and data centres across APAC.

Nxera plans to add further AI-ready capacity in Batam and Johor in the second half of 2026. The company expects its operational and pipeline capacity to increase from around 200MW in 2026 to more than 400MW over the medium term, supporting continued digital and AI-related growth in Singapore and the wider region.
