Visa, Sun Group partner on Visit Vietnam tourism platform to enhance digital travel experiences

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam – Visa has entered into a collaboration with Sun Group to support the development of Visit Vietnam, a national tourism e-commerce platform designed to improve trip planning, payments, and visitor engagement across the country.

The initiative brings together Visa’s digital payment capabilities with Sun Group’s portfolio of tourism, entertainment and hospitality assets, with the aim of strengthening Vietnam’s appeal to international travellers.

The collaboration was announced at the Visit Vietnam Connecting data to shape the future event and aligns with Vietnam’s broader tourism and economic development objectives. Visit Vietnam is a government-backed platform intended to centralise travel planning tools, services and information, while offering a more integrated experience for visitors.

Dung Dang, country manager for Vietnam and Laos at Visa, stated that there is a demand for travellers today to have convenience and confidence when exploring new destinations.

“Through our collaboration with Sun Group on the Visit Vietnam initiative, we’re not only ensuring visitors enjoy smooth, secure digital payments, and strong acceptance across every touchpoint – we’re also supporting Vietnam’s national tourism strategy,” Dung commented.

“This collaboration helps position Vietnam as a leading travel hub that delivers both exceptional experiences for visitors and long-term benefits for Vietnam.”

Through the integration of Visa’s technology, the platform is expected to support faster and more secure digital transactions, alongside tailored offers and destination recommendations. The use of aggregated and anonymised data insights is intended to help tourism stakeholders better understand travel patterns and visitor preferences, enabling more targeted services and improved destination management.

For travellers, the approach is designed to deliver more relevant recommendations, streamlined payment experiences, and incentives that encourage repeat visits. For public and private sector stakeholders, the platform is positioned as a tool to inform planning and policy through consolidated dashboards and analytical reports.

“Cooperating with Visa is an important step toward realising the Visit Vietnam vision – building a smart, data‑driven tourism ecosystem,” Vũ Quỳnh Anh Nguyễn, deputy CEO of Sun Group and CEO of the Entertainment & Hospitality Division, stated.

“Sun Group will work with Visa to create more deeply personalised, seamless, and safer experiences for travellers. This not only enhances the customer journey at every touchpoint but also helps businesses access valuable market insights.”

The partnership also includes plans for joint marketing and international promotion, leveraging Visa’s global network and spending data to raise awareness of Vietnam in selected source markets. Demonstrations of travel-related digital tools and applications formed part of the launch event, showcasing potential end-to-end visitor journeys supported by data and payments technology.

In its early stage, Visit Vietnam will focus on providing insight tools for government agencies and tourism businesses. Subsequent phases are expected to introduce consumer-facing features such as personalised itineraries, exclusive promotions, and expanded digital services.

The launch of a dedicated Visit Vietnam landing page marks an initial step in establishing the platform’s digital infrastructure.
