Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Vantage Data Centers has named Fitri Abdullah as country managing director for Malaysia, marking the creation of a new senior leadership position to guide the company’s operations and expansion in the market.
In this role, he will be responsible for overall business performance in Malaysia, with a focus on market development, partner and stakeholder engagement, and long-term growth.
“Malaysia is a strategically important market to Vantage and our customers. I am honoured and excited to take on this new role in advancing Vantage’s APAC growth journey and supporting Malaysia’s digital economy,” Fitri shared.
“I look forward to collaborating with teams across the company, customers, investors, government, policymakers and other stakeholders to deliver long-term value and a positive impact.”
Fitri brings more than three decades of experience across the technology and communications sectors, with a background spanning enterprise technology, cloud services and large-scale organisational leadership. Prior to joining Vantage, he led Oracle’s operations in Malaysia for nine years, during which time he oversaw the execution of strategies that positioned the business as a major cloud services provider in the country.
He will join the APAC leadership team and report to Jeremy Deutsch, president of APAC at Vantage Data Centers.
“I am delighted to welcome Fitri to Vantage’s APAC business as our new managing director for Malaysia. Fitri’s appointment comes at a time of significant growth for us,” Jeremy commented.
“His strategic vision and extensive experience will be instrumental as we pursue new opportunities and deepen our commitment to innovation and sustainability to keep pace with customer demand in such a dynamic market.”
His earlier career includes senior leadership roles at Mesiniaga Berhad, where he served as managing director, and at Maxis Berhad, where he held the position of senior vice president for the enterprise segment.
Across these appointments, Fitri was involved in driving commercial growth, strengthening customer relationships and improving operational efficiency. He also held a range of consulting and systems integration leadership roles at Hewlett Packard across the Asia-Pacific region.
The appointment comes as Vantage continues to expand its presence in Malaysia, which is viewed as a key market within the company’s regional growth strategy. The business currently operates three hyperscale data centre campuses across Kuala Lumpur and Johor, supporting demand from cloud, digital and AI-driven workloads.
Vantage’s continued investment in Malaysia reflects its broader commitment to supporting digital infrastructure development and enabling the growth of cloud and AI ecosystems in the country, as demand for large-scale, resilient data centre capacity continues to increase.
