Databricks names Jeremy Cooper as VP of marketing for APJ, supporting regional data and AI growth

Sydney, Australia – Databricks has appointed Jeremy Cooper as vice president of marketing for Asia Pacific and Japan, strengthening its regional leadership as demand for data and AI platforms continues to expand across APJ markets. The appointment reflects the company’s focus on scaling its commercial and marketing capabilities to support enterprise adoption of data and AI technologies.

James brings more than two decades of experience in senior marketing roles across cloud computing and enterprise software organisations. Most recently, he was responsible for marketing at AWS across APJ, where he led regional go-to-market initiatives and supported pipeline development across enterprise, public sector, partner and startup segments.

Based in Australia, Cooper will be responsible for defining and executing Databricks’ marketing strategy across APJ. His responsibilities include increasing brand visibility, supporting revenue generation and strengthening the company’s market presence as organisations across the region invest in data platforms and AI-driven analytics.

“AI is driving the most profound technology shift since the advent of the cloud, and Databricks is at the heart of it, helping organisations turn data into true intelligence,” Jeremy commented.

He added, “I’m excited to partner with our teams, customers and ecosystem across APJ to turn data into intelligence and intelligence into action.”

Before joining AWS, he held global marketing leadership positions at Salesforce, Google and LinkedIn, contributing to the development of large-scale marketing programmes and the expansion of established technology brands in multiple international markets. His background combines cloud technology expertise with experience in managing complex, multi-country marketing operations.

“James brings a rare mix of deep cloud experience, brand-building expertise, and a great blend of regional and global experience that will be instrumental as we help more organisations in APJ unify and scale their data and AI,” Joseph Puthussery, vice president of global demand generation & field marketing at Databricks, commented.

“I’m excited to partner with Jeremy as he builds a world-class marketing organisation in APJ and accelerates the next phase of our growth in this strategically important region.”

The appointment comes as Databricks continues to position its platform as a foundation for unifying data management, analytics and AI workloads, addressing growing regional demand for technologies that enable organisations to derive operational and strategic value from data at scale.
