The Magnum Ice Cream Company taps HCLTech to upgrade global digital infrastructure

Noida, India – The Magnum Ice Cream Company has entered into a multi-year agreement with HCLTech to develop and operate a modernised IT environment designed to support the company’s long-term growth as an independent, publicly listed ice cream business.

The collaboration will focus on building a resilient and scalable digital foundation capable of supporting operations across multiple markets.

As part of the engagement, HCLTech will introduce its AI Force platform to integrate AI throughout The Magnum Ice Cream Company’s technology landscape. The approach is intended to enhance forecasting capabilities, strengthen visibility across business processes, and prioritise user-centric design within the operating model. These measures aim to deliver stable, efficient and globally consistent IT services.

“Our partnership with HCLTech is instrumental in building a secure, future-ready infrastructure. As The Magnum Ice Cream Company advances as an independent listed ice cream company, we are infusing intelligence into every layer of our digital foundation,” Mark O’Brien, chief technology officer at The Magnum Ice Cream Company, stated.

“Together, we are unlocking advanced AI capabilities that will redefine operational excellence and elevate the experiences we deliver.”

A core element of the programme is the transition from traditional AIOps frameworks to a NoOps model, enabling extensive automation and autonomous system management. This shift is expected to reduce manual intervention through zero-touch operations and agent-based technologies, supporting fully self-managing IT environments.

“This partnership reinforces HCLTech’s leadership in driving complex, global transformations backed by deep domain expertise,” C Vijayakumar, CEO & managing director of HCLTech, stated.

“We look forward to contributing to TMICC’s growth vision and strategy with the best of technology and global talent.”

The partnership also supports The Magnum Ice Cream Company’s separation from Unilever, with HCLTech providing expertise to facilitate a structured exit from the Transition Service Agreement. This includes the establishment of a greenfield IT setup designed to support an AI-enabled operating model and future digital innovation.

The engagement highlights HCLTech’s experience in delivering large-scale technology transformation within the consumer packaged goods sector, with a focus on operational efficiency, security and improved end-user experience.

Through this collaboration, The Magnum Ice Cream Company aims to strengthen its digital capabilities while positioning its technology platform to support ongoing expansion and innovation.
