Singapore – Synagie, the digital commerce arm of Synagistics Limited, has recently introduced the company’s latest platform designed for Hong Kong brands to penetrate Southeast Asia’s thriving e-commerce market, ShopHK.
With the support from HKT, the platform will utilise Synagie’s AI-powered technology, 50+ on-demand services, cross-border logistics, and HKT’s client network to help businesses scale globally. It aims to onboard at least 500 brands by the end of 2025.
The company is also offering an exclusive 30-day free trial from 01 to 15 April 2025 to encourage businesses to explore the advantages of the platform.
In 2024, Synagistics made history as Hong Kong’s first successful de-SPAC listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Building on this momentum, the company launched Geene in 2025—an advanced AI platform integrating generative AI, blockchain, and big data, reinforcing its leadership in enterprise AI innovation.
Meanwhile, ShopHK has gained significant support from industry leaders, including HKSTP, the city’s largest innovation & technology hub, fostering over 2,200 pioneering tech companies.
Olive Tai, co-founder and CEO at Synagistics Limited, commented, “The Synagie-HKT collaboration is a game-changer for Hong Kong businesses looking to expand globally. As someone originally from Hong Kong, I’m especially proud of ShopHK’s mission to help businesses of all sizes reach new customers in Southeast Asia.
“Hong Kong’s SME sector is known to be incredibly diverse and vibrant. According to various surveys, over 60%, or about 200,000 SMEs, in Hong Kong are actively seeking expansion overseas. The launch of ShopHK by Synagie, with the support of HKT, is a major step in supporting these Hong Kong SMEs to thrive in the Southeast Asian marketplace,” added Tai.
Gladys Oon, director of partnerships and account management at HKSTP, also shared, “This partnership underscores our shared commitment to strengthening Hong Kong’s position as a global innovation gateway. By aligning HKSTP’s vibrant tech community – especially green-tech and health-tech products and services – with ShopHK, we can accelerate cross-border growth for Hong Kong’s most promising tech startups and SMEs.”
In its 2024 Policy Address, the HKSAR Government also announced the expansion of the E-Commerce Easy initiative to encompass all ASEAN nations in Southeast Asia.
The said initiative, under the BUD Fund, is aimed at accelerating SME growth by facilitating entry into the 10-member ASEAN bloc.
Speaking in support of this, Joseph Tsang, founder and managing director at FSL Group, stated, “The potential to reach millions of tech-savvy Southeast Asian consumers is incredible. We’re excited to be among the first local brands to join ShopHK.”
Henry Poon, sales and marketing manager at On Kee Dry Seafood Co. Ltd also said, As a Hong Kong-based brand with a strong local presence, expanding into Southeast Asian markets has always been a priority for us. ShopHK’s affordable, no-fuss and one-stop platform provides the tools and solutions for us to scale our business rapidly across Southeast Asia.”
The launch follows the region’s tech-savvy population, rising incomes, and widespread smartphone ownership, with Southeast Asia currently being positioned for explosive growth. In fact, the region is projected to reach approximately US$295b in 2025 and is on track to hit US$600b by 2030.
Interestingly, Indonesia remains the dominant market, while Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines are poised for significant expansion, with their e-commerce markets set to double by 2030.
