Singtel, Google team up to improve SG mobile messaging experience, service delivery

Singapore – Communications technology group Singtel has announced its recent strategic partnership with Google, providing opportunities for its business customers to enhance their mobile messaging experience and elevate service delivery. in Singapore

In this collaboration, Singtel is set to offer Rich Communication Services (RCS) with Rich Business Messaging to its business customers. The company will leverage its nationwide network, integrating RCS into the native SMS application of Android smart devices while also requiring no user intervention.

This allows businesses in various sectors to enhance their customer engagement with improved and immersive mobile messaging. These services will be available in the first quarter of 2024 for Singtel’s business customers.

Talking about the partnership, Terence Lai Tuck Leong, vice president, digitalisation, products, and partnerships at Singtel Singapore, shared, “Through this collaboration, we’re providing businesses with a powerful communication tool that will help them provide richer content and improve the quality of their engagements with their customers, thereby strengthening their relationships.”

“It will also support their innovation and digital transformation efforts in line with expectations from customers who are increasingly savvy and seeking smoother, frictionless interactions with their service providers,” Terrence further explained.

Jason Choy, Director, Android and business communication product partnerships, International at Google, also added, “We are pleased to collaborate with Singtel to bring RCS Business Messaging to users in Singapore. As Asia’s leading communications technology group, we believe that Singtel can provide reliable telecommunication solutions to business players, including support for RCS.”

“We hope this service will support digital transformation in various types of businesses and open new opportunities for future business innovation, ” concluded Jason.

This collaboration between the two brings together Singtel and Google’s innovative solutions to deliver better and more quality communication tools and services.
