Singapore – Public services provider Serco has adopted the Boomi Enterprise Platform in Asia Pacific to modernise its operations and speed up integration development using generative AI. The move forms part of Serco’s regional strategy to streamline data management, improve system connectivity, and reduce integration delivery times.
Operating across defence, healthcare, justice, and community services in the region, Serco selected Boomi for its low-code functionality, ease of use, and rapid deployment capabilities. The platform enables the organisation to simplify application programming interface (API) connectivity, improve master data management, and enhance collaboration between business and technical teams.
Key to the adoption has been the implementation of Boomi’s AI-driven tools, including Boomi Scribe and Boomi DesignGen. These features use natural language prompts to generate integration documentation and visual designs, allowing faster project delivery and clearer communication with stakeholders.
“We realised that powerful Boomi AI agents were already sitting with our Boomi Enterprise Platform license. Within minutes, we were experimenting with them live,” Kiran Narayam, director of products and digital capabilities at Serco, stated.
“That moment kick-started a brand new way of thinking and working.”
Kiran added that the discovery of Boomi’s AI agent capabilities for core integration came during the Boomi World Tour in Sydney, Australia.
Serco reports that documentation tasks, which previously required 40 to 60 hours, can now be completed in as little as 6 to 12 hours, while individual integration documents are now produced in minutes rather than hours.
The organisation recently transitioned its integration workloads from self-hosted clusters to Boomi Managed Cloud Service (MCS) and is preparing to introduce Boomi Event Streams for real-time data processing and alerts.
“Serco’s journey reflects the future of integration: low-code, AI-enabled, and business-empowered,” David Irecki, chief technology officer for Asia Pacific and Japan at Boomi, commented.
“It’s been an incredible privilege to partner with a team that moves fast, thinks strategically, and is committed to democratising innovation across the organisation.”
Serco also plans to expand its use of AI agents through Boomi AgentStudio, enabling business leaders to draft integrations under a governed framework while freeing specialist teams to focus on more complex work.
To support data quality objectives, Serco is also applying Boomi DataHub and Boomi API Management to maintain consistency and simplify oversight of information across systems.
