Singapore – Proofpoint, a cybersecurity and compliance firm, has recently announced the appointment of George Lee as its new senior vice president of Asia Pacific and Japan.

This strategic appointment enables George to assume leadership within the global sales organisation and spearhead the company’s growth strategy across the APJ theatre, operating out of Singapore.

With over 20 years of expertise in regional sales and operations in the IT and cybersecurity scene, George has already scaled businesses, expanded into key growth markets, and developed new strategic initiatives.

His extensive technology experience further encompasses governance, risk and compliance management, identity management, network security, including extended detection and response (XDR), as well as data and application security.

Talking about his appointment, Lee stated, “Proofpoint is the trusted cybersecurity partner to some of the world’s most respected organisations, and I am excited to be part of a company that boasts some of the most innovative minds in the industry.

“The APJ region exhibits distinctive growth dynamics, and I look forward to bringing award-winning solutions to market to help regional organisations navigate an ever-evolving, complex cyber threat landscape and better protect their businesses and customers,” he added.

Meanwhile, Blake Sallé, chief revenue officer at Proofpoint, shared his confidence in Lee’s leadership, saying, “”Proofpoint is relentlessly focused on delivering world-class technology that addresses human-centric cybersecurity threats in a way that no other vendor can.”

“As we continue to expand across the APJ theatre and globally, Proofpoint’s reputation as an undisputed cybersecurity leader has allowed us to attract fantastic talent. George has a track record of exceptional leadership and a profound understanding of the cybersecurity challenges facing CISOs and CIOs today; his expertise in go-to-market across the region will be instrumental in furthering Proofpoint’s mission to protect people and defend data,” concluded Sallé.

Having most recently served as senior vice president of APJ at Proofpoint Imperva, George has also held senior roles at RSA, EMC, and Avanade.
