Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Paydibs has joined Payments Network Malaysia (PayNet) as a direct participant for DuitNow QR acceptance, giving the company a direct connection to Malaysia’s national QR payment infrastructure.
The move adds to Paydibs’ existing payment capabilities, which previously enabled DuitNow QR transactions for merchants through third-party partnerships. With direct participation, the company increases its role as a merchant acquirer and gains greater control over transaction processing.
The integration also builds on Paydibs’ earlier direct connection to FPX, Malaysia’s online banking payment network. As a result, merchants using the platform can access both online banking payments through FPX and QR transactions through DuitNow QR within one system.
“By going directly with PayNet for DuitNow QR, we are enhancing our position as a merchant acquirer, enabling us to deliver faster settlements, greater control, and more efficient payment operations for businesses,” Tee Kean Kang, Chief Executive Officer of Paydibs, commented.
“At the same time, merchants benefit from simplified payment acceptance through a single platform, with access to DuitNow QR across banks and eWallets.”
The development comes as QR payments continue to expand in Malaysia. More than three million merchants now accept QR payments nationwide, supported by the addition of over 680,000 new DuitNow QR acceptance points in 2025. Digital payment volumes also remained high last year, with 8.44 billion transactions processed across the market.
Direct access to PayNet is expected to improve settlement times, increase operational efficiency and provide clearer oversight of payment flows. For merchants, this may support quicker access to funds and better cash flow management.
Additionally, the updated structure could simplify onboarding and support processes while offering businesses a more integrated payment experience.
The announcement follows earlier infrastructure developments by the company, including the launch of Paydibs NEO, a payment terminal combining QR, card and buy now, pay later options in one device.
Paydibs’ latest integration aligns with wider efforts by Bank Negara Malaysia and PayNet to encourage digital payment adoption among MSMEs, while supporting future developments in the country’s payments ecosystem.
