Paydibs taps AltPayNet to enhance cross-border payments between Malaysia, Philippines

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Paydibs, a Malaysia-based payment gateway focused on merchant services, has entered into a strategic partnership with AltPayNet, a global payment service provider headquartered in the Philippines.

The collaboration is intended to improve cross-border payment connectivity between the two countries, with an emphasis on financial interoperability and broader access to regulated payment services for overseas communities and regional merchants.

Under the arrangement, AltPayNet will utilise Paydibs’ locally licensed payment infrastructure in Malaysia to facilitate secure and compliant payment transactions between the Malaysian and Philippine markets.

By connecting AltPayNet’s international network with Paydibs’ domestic payment rails, the partnership establishes an integrated operating framework designed to support wider participation in essential financial services, while aligning with ASEAN-led efforts to promote interoperable retail payment systems across the region.

“This partnership reflects Paydibs’ commitment to advancing financial connectivity through inclusive and interoperable payment solutions,” Tee Kean Kang, chief executive officer of Paydibs, commented.

“By supporting services such as Social Security System (SSS) contributions on our platform, we are helping overseas communities remain financially connected and secure using trusted and compliant local payment infrastructure.”

The initial phase of the collaboration will focus on enabling Filipinos living in Malaysia to make contributions to the Philippines’ Social Security System through local payment channels. This initiative is intended to provide a practical and reliable option for overseas Filipinos to maintain their social security records and retain access to public benefits and services in their home country.

As part of the agreement, Paydibs has also been designated as the official payment processor for AltPayNet’s merchant partners operating in Malaysia. Payments will be processed through locally approved channels to meet regulatory requirements and support operational efficiency. The scope of the partnership is expected to widen over time, extending beyond social security contributions to include a broader range of cross-border merchant payment services for businesses and consumers.

“Our goal is to ensure financial access empowers Filipino families and communities, wherever they are,” Don Vacal, chief executive officer of AltPayNet, stated.

“By partnering with Paydibs, we can offer secure, interoperable and compliant payment services that help overseas Filipinos meet essential obligations, such as SSS contributions, while also opening new opportunities for merchants across borders.”

Both companies view the partnership as a starting point for deeper collaboration aimed at building a more connected and inclusive regional payments ecosystem.  Paydibs and AltPayNet seek to support the financial needs of overseas communities while enabling merchants to participate more effectively in regional digital commerce.
