Manila, Philippines – Nestlé Philippines, a food and beverage company, has recently announced that it has teamed up with green logistics services firm Mober, with the goal of integrating electric vehicles into their mid- and last-mile delivery operations.
This initiative, according to the company, is designed to support their goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2050 while also advancing its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) objectives.
Under the collaboration, Mober will provide electric trucks (e-trucks) to handle Nestlé Philippines’ logistics needs within Metro Manila.
Using renewable electricity, the company has also set up a 60 kWh EV charging station at Nestlé Philippines’ GMADC in Meycauayan, Bulacan, to support seamless and eco-friendly operations.
Said infrastructure will allow Nestlé’s EV fleet to run emission-free when charged at the facility, emphasising its commitment to sustainability. By avoiding the 0.68 kg of CO₂ emissions per kWh typical of grid electricity, this initiative sets a precedent for sustainable logistics.
Nestlé Philippines, has set ambitious sustainability goals, including halving greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and achieving net zero by 2050.
By advancing its Net Zero Roadmap, the company demonstrates its broader commitment to sustainable operations, responsible sourcing, and collaborative innovation across its value chain.
Dennis Ng, CEO at Mober, commented, “At Mober, we believe in taking bold steps toward reducing carbon emissions, and we’re proud to support Nestlé in achieving its 2050 net-zero commitments. With our eight electric trucks currently servicing Nestlé Philippines’ operations, we’re helping them not only reduce their carbon footprint but also set an example for the FMCG industry.”
Anderson Martins, head of supply chain and procurement at Nestlé Philippines, also stated,“Adding cargo EVs to our distribution fleet is part of our efforts to transform our operations by reducing the carbon emissions of our supply chain. We want our consumers to enjoy their favorite Nestlé products knowing that these were produced and distributed to them using 100% renewable electricity.”
“This is part of Nestlé’s global vision of a net zero future that has brought about various shifts in sustainable business practices. We hope that by doing this, we can further create a positive impact on society and the planet,” he added.
Nestlé Philippines plans to expand its EV-powered delivery operations to additional cities across the country, continuing its partnership with Mober.
