Macquarie Telecom, Netskope strengthen cloud and AI security for organisations in Australia

Sydney, Australia – Macquarie Telecom, part of Macquarie Technology Group, has entered into a partnership with Netskope, a provider of modern security and networking solutions for the cloud and AI era.

The collaboration is designed to simplify how Australian organisations protect and accelerate their use of data, cloud platforms, and AI applications, while strengthening their overall cybersecurity posture.

The agreement brings together Netskope’s security service edge (SSE) platform with Macquarie Telecom’s software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN). This integration enables the delivery of secure access service edge (SASE) capabilities to a broader range of organisations across Australia, supporting both network security and cloud adoption.

“Organisations big and small are under immense pressure to strengthen their cyber defences while keeping operations simple and manageable,” Luke Clifton, group executive for Macquarie Telecom, commented.

He added, “By joining forces with Netskope, we’re giving customers a smarter, more resilient network backed by integrated, enterprise-grade security.”

Netskope’s SSE platform unifies web, data, cloud, and AI security functions, providing increased protection against cyber threats and improved cost efficiencies. The combined solution removes common compromises between network performance and security, offering businesses both resilience and agility.

The initiative comes at a time when Australian organisations continue to face persistent data breaches and rising regulatory obligations. The combined offering—delivered through a single managed partner—provides flexibility and safeguards for users and data, regardless of location.

“Modern networks need to be both fast and secure, but many organisations are still having to accept trade-offs between performance and security,” Tony Burnside, senior vice president and head of APAC at Netskope, explained.

He added, “Networking and security consolidation is now a cornerstone of the demands of modern businesses, and this partnership with Macquarie Telecom will help more Australian organisations unlock enhanced levels of data security.

The partnership also builds on Netskope’s existing collaboration with Macquarie Government, part of the Macquarie Technology Group, which already provides SASE technology to federal government customers.
