Indonesia – Krom Bank, an Indonesian digital bank and part of Kredivo Group, has announced that it has employed Amazon Web Services to further enhance its digital banking services across the country.
In this collaboration, Krom Bank will utilise the company’s cloud technology to create and improve its services, thereby offering data compliance and faster service to its local users.
Furthermore, the partnership highlights key features, including the utilisation of AWS tools such as Amazon Aurora for scalable databases and Amazon ECS for rapid integration of features like e-KYC into their mobile app.
Amazon Rekognition will also enable secure logins and document submissions through selfies, while Amazon SageMaker will facilitate customer behaviour analysis to improve security and personalised experiences.
In the future, the company has expressed its intention to leverage additional AWS generative AI solutions like Amazon Bedrock for features such as chatbots and virtual assistants.
The bank also works with cloud banking platform Mambu for core banking operations and is investing in AWS training and certification programs to enhance the cloud capabilities of its workforce.
Anton Hermawan, president director at Krom Bank, said, “AWS provides the flexibility we need to rapidly evolve our suite of financially inclusive mobile banking services, making them engaging and easy to use. Cloud technology helps us deliver innovative and secure financial services to Indonesia’s youth and previously underserved parts of Indonesia’s population.”
Anthony Amni, country leader for Indonesia at AWS, further said, “Krom Bank innovates at a rapid pace to develop intuitive banking services on AWS that make managing finances easy and engaging. Removing the complexity from banking is critical for many mobile app users in Indonesia, and the bank achieves this with the agility, security, and availability of the cloud.”
